And in this run, the brass sounded like they we're struggling a bit, but lets be honest, with that many notes I would be struggling in June as well.

That is as much the nature of the Blue Devils family night as anything. The corps had just spent a few hours sitting in the stands watching all of the other performing groups on a cold and windy night. They did a very abbreviated warmup and jumped right into the show. I expect next weekend will look and sound much better after a proper show day prep.

Whatever. If you have something to add to our discussion, add it. Don't be that guy.

Whatever. This is a thread intended to bash BD. Nothing else. To be honest, most of the top corps move and play about the same amount of time. BD just does it better and with more variety. Some, like the OP appear to be ###### that Crown is not winning.

Over/Under: That after our beloved Devils bring home 18 tonight..........7 people post that they are done with DCI and they are never giving another penny to DCI blah blah blah lol.

Over/Under: That after our beloved Devils bring home 18 tonight..........4 threads pop up whining about BD winning all the time and/or b******g about BD doesn't move etc......

Over/Under: That after our beloved Devils bring home 18 tonight..........20 people accuse BD of paying off the judges, having them on the payroll with zero proof or evidence that this is happening........so basically they are trying to take the spotlight off of BD by trying to stir up controversy to anyone who is stupid enough to listen to them.

    DO IT UP DEVILS!!!!! 18!!!!!!

Over on all of them. Seriously, it has started already.

but its gets to a question of what is harder, doing one impossibly hard thing perfectly, or doing 100,000 simple things perfectly simultaneously?

This is something I have tried to clarify a number of times here. Doing one impossibly hard thing perfectly is amazing and a wonderful accomplishment, BUT it only proves you can do that one thing. Even if you have the greatest talent on the field that can do anything they are asked, you never showed it to the judges or the audience. This is where the variety of skills comes into play. The Blue Devils are well versed in showing off a variety of skills throughout the show. This is where they get a lot of points in the visual caption, even if they don't "march"as many drill sets as others.
