  1. And as a former member, I am sure you can appreciate the connection the corps  should make to its Casper roots and exposing members to the heralded heritage of the corps.  If you are focused on tarps...Then you are missing the point of the experience for the members of the corps.

It is with profound sadness that we must report the passing of one of our most beloved volunteers. Laurie Holguin was on tour when she experienced a sudden medical emergency a few nights ago following our performance in Massillon, Ohio.

Laurie's daughter Nicole, (a second year member of the Troopers Colorguard), as well as Laurie's father and husband Christopher were with Laurie at the time of her passing.

Laurie, (who was from Dallas, Texas) was always the first to volunteer whenever possible and was widely known as the kind and energetic mom that would shuttle members and staff to and from airports, help prepare food, and so much more. Her love of the Troopers is matched wholeheartedly by the love we had for her. Laurie was family, and she will be missed beyond words.

The Troopers organization would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of this incredible soul. The long blue line is with you.

With honor and love, The Troopers

  3. Ah, yes, the "wooooah is meeee" troop spin control has already begun.

The staff knew this would be a public performance... it was plastered all over the place.

What a dumb move. Don't beat your kids up before their first performance for the nation of little bandos.

    This guy..."What a dumb move."

    You are clueless.

  4. I think, or at least would like to think, that the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps has way too many things on its mind right now in preparing for the coming season, than to waste its time "playing" the internet.

Yes....Because the same person that is in charge of their media, cooks, does finance, and plays lead trumpet. Give me a break. Maybe the goal wasn't to "waste time" but to get people all fired up. This thread is currently #2.

Great year for drum corps...this is a year worthy of a top 15 in lieu of a top 12.

1-4 way too close to call. I will wait to see who is on the nightly panels as to who I predict each night. All four are deserving...who is judging Saturday night will make the difference. Certain judges=certain trends for certain corps in certain captions. Very easy to spot patterns with so much data available.

  6. WORD FROM TROOPER TOUR!!!

Over the past two days, Troop has brought in BOA powerhouse Bob Barfield of Tarpon Springs to serve as a consultant, and to assist in cleaning the visual program. Talk about taking a proactive approach to the geography of their tour and seeking out excellence in instruction...WOW! Troop is not laying down folks...Honor, Loyalty and DEDICATION to excellence is clearly evident! Everyone hold onto their hats...The next three weeks are going to be great for the Troopers. #HLD

  7. jaboo -- please do not hold nero solely responsible for the whole "plagiarism" issue. His response was in reference to the question which I asked him. I give him a heck of a lot of credit and respect for not instantly responding back, but instead taking a full day to think upon it before he responded. If anyone is to be blamed for the issue arising in the first place, that person would be me. I, too, share your support and love of everything "Troopers"...and given nero's initial words in his show report, I found him to be generally supportive of the Corps as well.
