  1. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could borrow or rent a marching baritone. My HS has Marching Baritones but since the Baritone section is massive this year don't have any to spare :P Cheers!
  2. Hello! I wanna try marching Crossmen (Live in San Antonio) one day but I play Saxophone. I know learning Cymbals may be a strange choice but just bear with me :). Does anyone have any experience as to how hard it is to get into a Cymbal line, any tips as to learning cymbals, and are there any key things that I should focus on. I apologize for the most likely tedious question >.< But Cheers! Xas~
  3. I've borrowed a horn from a friend and new mouthpiece that he just had I think it's a trombone Blessing mouthpiece 61/2 Al (I don't know why he had it :P ) Should I be afraid that I'll learn the brass wrong if I learn by myself. He can't teach me at the moment since he's busy with his own life and I can't find a private lesson teacher.
  4. Hello! I was just wondering how high the standard if for SCVC, do you have to be an extremely good marcher or player or both? I was thinking of starting to learn brass now (I know very very late) and auditioning for SCVC for at least some feedback.. Should I try going to the SCVC camp in December or try asking to see if I can go in January? Thank you ! ~xas (I've already signed up for MySCV)
  5. Again, thank you for all the feedback and HornTeacher your 30,000 lire is on the way ;) I think I might want to try for Drum Major in an open corps. I know it seems extremely unreasonable but I at least want to try. I was just wondering if any DCI Open Class corps have Drum Major camps or auditions. Thank You again! ~Xas
  6. Thank you so much for all the feedback, I have the same question as frachel, did the people who did this, did you teach yourselves or lessons. Also for baritone would you recommend doing a certain workout so that the extra hardcore practice part of DCI is less taxing?
  7. Hello everyone, I'm currently a Freshmen in high school playing Sax and was wondering if would it be reasonable to try to learn a brass instrument and march in one of the World class corps or at least a Open Class Corps in DCI during the time I'm in high school. ~xas
