you believe what you want. it's clear nothing said...by many people in many threads with great experience sitting behind an ipad...will chaneg your mind. and then you'll just keep beating dead horses on here every time who you want to win doesn't.
the judging philosophy, the sheets, the criteria...everything has been explained to you. you don't like it, so you just keep spinning round and round.
apparently you are not reading the post because I am having some very enlightening conversations with some people. you just want me to blindly believe, and I will not do that. I am looking for the "why" not the "what" and you think I am beating a dead horse because I am not accepting the "what" for what it is.
I understand more than you think. I may not agree with it, but I understand it and I take offense to those who treat me like I am stupid because I will not accept the status quo.

Change the year to 1993, substitute " Star of Indiana " for " BD " on this thread topic, and its pretty much identical.
No because I actually liked 1993 Star

i've been very critical of BD over the years and some of the numbers they've gotten.
not this year. seeing them live last weekend reinforced what i've thought since the first time they were on FLO.....they're that #### good
agree to disagree.

ice skating judges can be at the othe end of the ice. rinks aren't that small.
i question judges all the time. i also question people who have things explained to them and continue to grasp at straws to prove they're right
come on man, there is only one person on the ice. Thats just a bad faith argument.
I am not grasping at straws. Dont treat me like I am stupid.
I feel like I am being gaslit. Like I should ignore what my eyes and ears and 30 years of experience in this activity tell me and just blindly trust what the judges say. But a night like tonight makes that impossible for me. BD is NOT nearly 1.5 points better.

To make things more positive, I made myself a Veaux Carre. A New Orleans classic
1 1/2 oz Bourbon or Rye
1 1/2 oz Cognac
1 1/2 oz Sweet Vermouth
3/4 oz Benedictine
3 dashes Angostura Bitters
3 dasges Peychauds Bitters
stir over ice and strain into either coup served up or rocks glass with large cube. Garnish with lemon twist (discarded)

Percussion ranking 8th tonight and brass 7th. Drums were the obvious strength going into the season, and now brass is doing some heavy lifting, too. Really proud of what Lauren and Mary have done with these young performers.
If Troopers had a more solid guard, they would be a solid 7th place corps. The guard has improved very much, but its still a weak point in the corps.

If you would've told me that any corps could come in fourth in percussion and brass and win by more than a point in any show I would've said you were crazy.
seems messed up to me.

That is the best thing you can do. Seriously. That's what I did after being disappointed in 2017 that Vanguard didn't win and thinking the same things you just said. It was the best thing I have ever done. I have enjoyed 2019, 2022 and 2023 far more than any season, because I just accept the judges results for what they are. I don't get upset anymore and it's really freeing.
Scott Stewart always used to tell us, "you can't control what the judges are going to do, you can only control what you do." I think that's an extremely valueable lesson.
Scott Stewart also rejected critiques and sent non English speakers to mock the process.
I have been following and/or participating in this activity for 30 years. I have learned from DCI hall of famers and apparently I know nothing.

They aren't 1.5 better than the Bluecoats, they are 1.287 better than the Bluecoats.
If you ask me, Bluecoats IS 1.287 better than BD

BD is not a point and half better than Bluecoats. That is a BS score. Just keep doing what you are doing.

Again I vehemently disagree with the judging result and again I will be flamed by the BD people. BD is not a point and a half better. They simply are just not. I give up, I will never understand why judges love BD so much.

I just had a realization. One year from today, I will be marching on that field with the Crossmen 50th anniversary alumni corps. I will be the fat mello player (I know I marched contra, but I play horn on the regular these days)

I did a class presentation on Homogenic in the 8th grade. Needless to say, I wasn’t a popular kid in my small podunk town in ‘98.
Nah you were the cool kid, they just didn't know it.

I was there until Vespertine. I will still listen to her, but I dont follow as closely. Post is my favorite album. The influence from Tricky made that album pop. Oh to be in my 20s again

When 2 out of the 3 performance parts are in 4th place, it seems messed up that you are nearly 1.5 points ahead.
