:tongue:/>I think the Stonecutters will be most offended.
niceAs far as we know, it could be a show about the G7. :tongue:/>/>
it's cute when the slaves have secret nick-names for the overseers, make fun of them in private and try to imitate their behavior
i'm sure the show will be amazing

got to play The Canyon as part of the '02 SCVAlumni CorpsSCV 1999 - I remember watching it live on PBS and loving it, and still love it to this day
And this year Xmen's show looked like it woulda been fun.
-
that's the point right thereand a lot has to be credited to the consistency of the people on staff.

fave Glassmen show ever for me.

I saw the Lawrence, MA show live and BL&L. I was watching the keyboard player's left hands banging octaves below middle C and realizing it was covering up, not embellishing the tubas. If I was running at 190 BPM with 28 lbs of horn only to have my big notes covered up by a guy sitting and pretending to 'emote' I'd be slightly annoyed.
Notable exceptions were BAC and Xmen. Notable *sigh* worthy, Bluestars.

This was the best yet. My one question: why not use the side speakers maybe just a little?
Prolly cuz not all theaters have the surrounds, but . . yeah. Having an Outback in close walking distance (Stella on draft) is nice, too.

I really dug Crossmen's show, not totally sure why, just looked like it would be fun as hell to play and march.
that is all

That is all.

Royal Airs did a full drill in 02. SCV did not. Crowd went ape for both.
well, we didn't do a drill but we marched . . a little27th with the wheel, SCV who didnt march still did the bottle dance, I believe Cavies Classic did the step over the rifle line.

MARWAN!!And it seems to be just fine with the thousands of folks who stand and cheer for us EVERY year (and not just at Allentown!. . and Liz and Rob
I miss wearing coat #97 just about everyday.
As the Renegades say, "the view is better from the field."
The naysayers may have piled in but I bet the hotdog chompers, true fans and member-supporters would enjoy the enthusiasm and showmanship that the banana men ALWAYS deliver.
oh yeah, and . .
HYPE!

In '90 I hadn't been around much. I worked near the hall and rolled by to check in as the buses were pulling out to camp or tour, I forget.I have always wanted to see SCV do a complete Les Mis production, but not one year after BAC did it.
GR was walking and I pulled up and asked, "What's the book this year."
"Carmen."
"Aww, I hate Carmen!"
He shot me a look to kill, I wished him luck and drove off.
Some time after the season I stopped in to annoy him as I saw his car was there.
I was looking for forgiveness.
I said, "So, how did it go doing Carmen."
He replied,"Carmen did us."
I hate Les Miserables, sacharine, tired.
I watched the SCV threads this year, I so get it, from all the disparate voices, people who love what the corps represents, personally, to them. Very passionate voices.
In the age of the "total show" program, a "best of" will never happen. The staff will take on the mantle once again of doing their best to reinvent the corps. There will be red, green and ('87 exception) aussies.
. . and they will "march like gods"(Charlie Anderson)

A couple of years ago the SCV Alumni and staff and others went to J. Brians (map link) after the show. It's a smaller family run bar & grill. It may be 1st come 1st serve if lots of people show up.
But it worked out well.
See youse there.

This is an invitation to anyone who would be interested in being a part of a "Tribute to the Princemen" being planned for the GAS celebration this coming April 28, 29, 30, & May 1, 2011. The performance will be Saturday afternoon.
We are planning to have a group of horns perform some music performed by the Princemen through the years.
If you are interested visit the Yahoo group and click "Join This Group".
Thank you,
John Bermudez

I would submit, an assessment should be made: are they evil? If yes, they are a drum corps. If we can come to an agreement on that, we can stop all this sniping. Now discuss...
Thank you, drive safely, be sure to tip your waitresses.

That still gives me goose bumps SCV and 27th appearence..Star was good...just not the same..maybe because of less history...jmo
I just looked on the home page, the DVD is no longer available. Here's a
, I believe it's Friday evening before PP. At 8:22, Scott Pierson, conductor/arranger included "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" as a special remembrance of GR. -
lest ye forget . .Great playing. The presentation was a bit cheesy but good overall. A bit of a letdown after Cavies, Anahiem, and Madison though.edit: at :37, Brad Andrews solo; sadly we lost Brad last year. Those who knew him will never forget a great friend, kind soul and SCV stalwart.
