These smaller corps need to be strongly supported. Local smaller corps that can develop Is where many get the experience (and can afford) to march. Remeber the Jersey Surf show that was a take on the Bridgeman,... good fun!!!.
I try to support the smaller corps by buying merch, but often the smaller corps, at least early in the season, don't even have a souvenir booth set up.

I have an older friend who joined the Marine Corps. During basic training, her group was asked if anyone had any band experience, and she raised her hand. She has always regretted raising her hand. She felt guilty about playing in the Marine band while other Marines lost their lives.

They are randomized by tier. So the top three will be drawn at random. And so on down.
I didn't know that!

Ok, I don't understand. Someone, please educate me. What determines the order of the corps performances? Last night two corps performed after the #1 ranked Blue Devils.

I'm so thrilled that the United States Marine Drum & Bugle Corps is still involved in DCI shows. They remind us of our military beginnings.

Wow! I just checked the scores from last night. Blue Devils @ 94.050 and Boston Crusaders @ 93.875! Boston has come closer to the Blue Devils, than anyone else this season. Hmmm, I wonder if Boston may be the giant killer. (Yeah, I was thinking about Boston's David and Goliath show.)

SCV will pass Crown.
I don't see SCV passing Crown. Even though SCV's show has been pretty clean since the beginning of the season, Crown's show has been much more pleasing to watch.

"Tempus" is Latin for "Time" - root word of "Tempo".... the fabric refer to the "blue cloth" in the Blake poem that opens the show.....I suspect they may be replaced in Indy with something more expressive .....
I hate the blue tarps! I truly hope they are just place holders and by finals, they will be replaced by something wonderful and awesome.

Boston is a testament to how important staff is to creating a winning DCI show. So is BD (obviously).
Agree! I believe the Madison Scouts have been out of the top 12 because of their staff and not because of the corps talent, be they all-male or co-ed.

Both BAC and BD's guard work are highly demanding.

Ok that girl just did a cartwheel where her hands don’t touch the field it seemed….
Yeah, trained dancers and gymnasts do that all the time.

This has been my earworm today at work.

I've never seen a drum line do guard work before.

Crown made my power go out. Guess I’m done for the evening lol
So sorry. I lost my internet last Sunday due to t-storms and didn't get it back 'til Tuesday evening.

This is the first time I was able to appreciate the whole show design, rather than just focusing on the guard. Nice job SCV!

I have noticed their awesome cymbal line work all season! Now, I got to enjoy their whole show!

Yup. I didn’t do a “west coast show nap” today though.
I'm glad I got a nap in. Otherwise, I would be falling asleep soon.

Sounded like a little bit of "Somebody I Used to Know" in the closer.

Hey BD, call Music City to find out where they got their blue cloths. A good upgrade from your IKEA bags. 😜
Yep! Yep! Yep!

Very much so. Indiana has a North South divide culturally on those lines. Southern end is very Applachian in orientation while the North end is very Great Lakes with its Germanic influences.
I remember well the arguments with my cousins from Rushville over "you talk funny" "No you!"Southern Indiana celebrates their German heritage too. I have a friend in southern Indiana who claims she is 3/4ths German, but I'll bet that the other 1/4th is Aappalachian Scot Irish, since she has a very heavy southern accent.
