Screaming Sops à la affecting the tasty altissimo ranges many brass fans lose their <blank> over, assuming quality execution, is quite popular with high-ranking corps.
Does this help brass caption scoring?

I'm trying to figure out the significance of the concept of 'regionals' and what's at stake for all the corps. Any resources available to help me understand this system?
TIA!

Curious what a Legend MM pays per season. As a BAC parent, I paid about $3,500 this season and last, plus other expenses I.e. Their trips to, as they say, Wally World (Walmart).
It is a financial hardship for many corps members. Of course assistance is available.
All that to say, would be a shame to end season early for those MM's with that much financial outlay.

From their fundraising site:
35K to replace our equipment trailers, as our old trailer was no longer safe to travel
12K to replace our appliances on our food trailer and additional adjustments
8K in additional rental vehicle expense and repairs for support vehicle breakdown early tour
15K in addiitonal expenses for corps housing needs that has risen through the season
30K in equipment replacements and additions for our growing corps, and additional general operating expectations

This is interesting and just an FYI regarding security at the Alamodome on Saturday:
* INCREASED SECURITY MEASURES *
Due to the increase in security it is suggested that you arrive earlier at the Alamodome. Amoung the measures that will now be in place are:
1. There will be an increased security presence both inside and outside the Alamodome.
2. Small handbags & purses will be allowed in the Alamodome, but will be inspected at all entrance gates. Inspection tables will be set-up outside the North, South and East gates.
3. Large bags, coolers and backpacks WILL NOT be allowed in the Alamodome.
4. Once fans have exited the Alamodome, they WILL NOT be allowed to re-enter for any reason.
5. Signs will be posted throughout the interior and exterior of the Alamodome, as well as in the parking lots listing the new security procedures. As a parent, I enjoyed stepping out of a stadium to visit with son after performance when they have a few minutes. Sounds like that's not an option.

First time seeing Surf this year. Nice show. They've left the shore and hit the city. I take it the show has an NYC vibe. Nice ensemble sound by the brass, nice drill, plenty of movement, effective guard. I found it quite enjoyable.
I'm loving your play-by-plays!!! More please.
GO BAC!!

Having not heard Boston live, I can't really speak to how much room there is to grow. But they have a show that is very complex from a staging and guard standpoint that is easy to understand and cheer for. It reminds me a little of Academy last year, though obviously on the polar opposite end of the subject matter spectrum.
You can see Cadets and especially Crown influences in this show. That should bode well for them down the stretch. Can they stay ahead of Cadets? I don't know. A .2 spread is no spread at all at this stage of the season, but, it was a lot more than that on the other side just a few weeks ago.
Grab a gulp of the Kool-Aid, you have a road trip mofo!
Get some BAC!

Early season yes. Performance levels Trump demand. If Cavies can continue to clean and Cadets (who just finished their changes) can get performance levels up, who knows. It's all about timing. BAC may be peaking, Cavies I think they have growing room and Cadets are no where near peaking.
BAC may be peaking? Oh the monotony of these posts.

@MikeRapp: I saw them in Orlando, brilliant show. Hope to learn of your reaction after show.

While I'm not a complete DCI noob, I have never been as close to the action until my son started marching (2nd year BAC brass this year). That said, I hear often about 'politics' in the judging of these amazing corps. In no way am I impugning the system's integrity. I welcome your POV and any insight into this topic.
If I am off-topic in any way, please delete with extreme prejudice.

One read of their comments on here and its quite obvious to all that they are like ALL fans/ alums of ALL Corps... a diverse group with various opinions, perspectives, insights, experiences. So no, I will not accept that Cadets fans have no respect for others opinions,, and its a silly and scurrilous thing to accuse me of even thinking such, let alone that I share such a ridiculous assessment of Cadets fan/ alums. Dozens and dozens of Cadets alums & fans are my friends and have been so since before you even marched in Drum Corps, and in some cases before you were even born. That said, enjoy your day, and the discussion of Drum Corps here on DCP moving forward. And a suggestion..... relax.. its only Drum Corps. Its a hobby. A recreation. Its not life and death.
Unless you're a wicked witch...GO BAC!!!
