Did you go to this page specifically?
https://marchingmusicdownloads.com/download/?_sft_download_category=2017
Yep! Unless I'm going crazy I only see audio, which I have already. Don't get me wrong, I'm very appreciative of being able to listen to all these shows but after 5 years I'm dying to see these shows again somehow. I might just splurge for the DVDs and just accept all the cuts they made in the finals tapes.

Boston and Crown in 2017

Have you checked out marchingmusicdownloads.com ? 2017 is available digitally.
For some reason that website only has video from 2019 season and nothing else.

The brute force route would be to buy the top 12 blu rays from DCI.org. Their website shows they're still available, though of course, pricey.
Yeah I forgot about those but I think like whole parts of shows are removed which is super sad. Copyright sucks
Thanks for reminding about them anyway -

Was it a top 12 performance?
Yep!

Hey there folks. Does anyone know why its so hard to find recordings of 2017 shows? Is there a place we can purchase them? I fear that the official recording of my show is just going to be lost forever, which is really sad.

I think I’m correct in saying this, but it’s actually insanely crazy how close Crown and SCV were - 0.037. If Crown had scored 0.1 more in any subcaption across the sheet, they come in 3rd. That’s INSANE.

It's easier when you're walking.
Tell that to the Bluecoats! 8-5/ sitting and still couldn't win!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who notices that. I could listen to that musical program all day. I’m excited for when it’s released on iTunes, but I was bored watching! Drill was boring, easy, no velocity at all! They start off the drill great then start walking around and dance the rest of the show!

I’m sorry but this may be one of those years, for me anyways, that the best Corps may not win. I’ve seen all the corps and Bloo just does it for me. I understand BD is clean as they always are, but Bloo just has “it” for me. That’s the show I’d rather see encore on Finals night.
The most entertaining show does not deserve to win based off that. You actually have to the demand and execution of that demand as well. Bluecoats does not have the overall demand other shows around them have. If you notice the scores the last couple shows, their achievement has been higher than content a lot across the sheet. They need to add more demand and execute it and then they will win.

Hell yes Cavies!!!
Visual caption is looking ominous for Bloo, lots of achievement over content.
This has happened multiple times this summer, unsurprisingly. More judges are finally noticing.

Bloo would have won brass but someone put them 4th in content. 🙄
Judges are finally noticing. Multiple judges had them higher in achievement than content in different captions. Their program is not as difficult as some of the groups beneath them. The show is just so well designed that a lot of people don’t notice those things.

There is lots of visual demand in Bluecoats' show. They're not standing still by any means. (They're just not playing *while* marching very much. But neither was SCV '18 or BD '17.)
Yeah I don't think they're standing still by any means. They're certainly moving and playing a lot more than they did last year, in my opinion. I think its just become the nature of how shows are nowadays with the implementation of a lot of dancing. If there's any demand in their visual program, its in their choreography. But the marching aspect... meh. The hardest marching aspect of their show is the beginning and they're not even playing. Everything else for me is underwhelming 😞 (I really like 2000s shows). But we all have our own thoughts and opinions and its chill.

If bloo's show has no visual demand then SCV must be standing still. Oh wait, they are
Lots of half-time marching if you ask me haha

I expect bloo to flip flop SCV in Visual Analysis and Brass as the season goes on. SCVs brass imo is slightly better and Bloo brings on a better visual program.
While Bloo's show is beautiful, there is no visual demand in it. This is just my opinion. It has been a common theme for them in my eyes. 2017's visual program was very demanding and we saw how that affected the rest of the captions. Just saying they march a lot doesn't mean there's any substance to it. (That was more a general response, not to this post in particular). I respect this drum corps and their amazing show design, but I get disappointed when I watch and not necessarily be impressed by anything marching related. Their brassline on the other hand is beyond stellar.

But different shows, different stages of development within the guards, different progressions. Too many variables to be considered an outlier.

I agree there are different variables at play but I don't agree with your conclusion. It would be one thing if BAC had a trend that indicated as such, but having just 1 show where they come 1st in guard all season, and that too back in early July seems like an outlier to me. Especially when their win on semis night is sandwiched between 2 losses.
Fair point. That semis judge really set BD back putting them 4th whether or not they had a rough night, while BAC teetered at 1st and 2nd. Interesting recaps for championships but regardless, I’m happy for that drum corps. Very exciting for them as they grow into future champions.

Boston Guard beat BD earlier in the season too
Definition of an Outlier: "In statistics, an outlier is an observation point that is distant from other observations"
Out of 10 head to head matchups, BD has beat BAC in guard 8 times.
But different shows, different stages of development within the guards, different progressions. Too many variables to be considered an outlier.

Recap shows BD.
BD got highest score at finals but averaging all three nights, BAC had the highest score overall.

Boston doesn’t have a Box 5 percussion at prelims? That doesn’t seem right. They were competing so well during the first half of the season. These percussion scores are whack.

I'm pretty slow.
Believe it or not, I still haven't really heard the Conquest hits in the show. My mind was affixed on Morse code due to the theme. The fact that they're during that particular set and I never noticed makes me feel even stupider. Only reason I know that now is because others in this thread have mentioned it.

BAC behind BS in GE1... didnt think I’d see BS take any subcaption over BAC at this point in the game.

Hence why it took most of the season last year to ACHIEVE the book...and this year will not be ANY different..mark my words..And again I'm stepping into the guard realm...big mistake for me...haha :-)
smiley face changed for @HockeyDad :-)
For sure:
Smart staff at some point will get members to achieve or at that point alter for achievement. Those corps who beat the dead horse till the end usually only complain that they had harder work.
I only said my first comment because I watched BAC and Bloo back-to-back multiple shows in a row and it’s clear BACCG isn’t achieving what the staff wrote for them, at the moment. Too many drops from my untrained eye. But even untrained, I still know what’s hard and what’s not. This show is much more demanding than last year from what a former member in 2017 told me.
Forsure about beating the dead horse though. I’m hopeful that the staff will do what they need to do in order to be successful. They are experienced enough realize what needs to happen. The guard is also younger than last year with extra members, but they work very hard and I don’t see them falling by the end of the season.

Haha I marched Boston but Crown was fun that year to watch from the back sideline and I never got to see it fully, just listened to the audio all the time.
