    Well, it's Denton in July, so you'll definitely want to bring your sweater.

    It's a tradition for first-timers to yell "They're always ready!" just before the drum-major salute to the crowd. Do this with each corps.

    Be sure to watch your iPhone screen during the entire performance, because someone is surely Periscoping the show.

    If you pay for a ticket, be sure to spend the entire show out in the lot.

    It's considered cool to "be like the corps members" and paint your feet white.

    Oh, and the pork chops, of course. Don't forget those.

    Only one of these is true.

    :peek:

    Of course! I'll make sure to also arrive #### faced and yell at everyone.

    I almost forgot about starting a fight in the stands!!

    UNT is a terrific venue and you'll see a lot of excellent corps. Check dci.org for any specific stadium policies, i.e. bags etc.

    Many corps will have their housing sites posted on their web pages, so yes, if you get a chance, catch a rehearsal or two.

    Have a fabulous time. Oh, you may run in to my ex. Give her my love , maybe by spilling a soda on her. :laughing:

    Of course haha,

    If you have the time, and the inclination to walk a bit, find out where the percussion and brass lines are warming up and check them out. Sometimes the show in the lot is as good as the one on the field.

    Yeah that's what i was thinking of doing, are there places where they usually are? Or do i just have to walk around and hope

    I got the inside scoop:  it’s gonna be snippets of heavily mic’d unrecognizable songs muddled by thunderous goo, accompanied by lots of nonsensical props and dancing. With the word “blue” in there somewhere.

    hahahahahahahhhhhahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahhhhhahahahahahahhahahahahahaha goood hockey dad

  5. (Sorry if this isn't the right board to post it in)

    As a DCI fan i'm planning to go to Semifinals and Finals this year on the 9th and 10th of August. I'll be traveling almost 800 miles and 11 hours to get there, from Oklahoma.

    Does anyone have any tips or any advice they could give me to stay alive and happy on my travels?

    For me ... she's ready to move on with her life.  And drinks are on me if anyone is at a contest with me and wants to get a drink ... depression and alcoholism ... a good mix.

    I'm going to be at finals, but i'm not sure you should be giving alcohol to minors...

    I never said they were not "Talented" (which itself is a fallacy better known as PRACTICE). I do and have many times called out BD for doing stupid stuff.  Yowza.  I thought Tommy was a lame show and would have been ten times lamer with vocals.  Just because they are legal now doesn't mean you can't call them out.  Session 44 was one of the very few instances where a vocalist actually did work.  The only thing missing from this band is a bunch of Murses and a fixie bike.  I am unrepentant in calling out  stupid crap. the new BD uniforms are even more a joke and they know I can't stand them.  nice try.

    bd = blue devils

    bc= blue coats

  8. I'm a sophomore in Oklahoma that likes new-age DCI, but the drum tech here told me to check out Black Gold since he was in the corps when it was still active. I've been trying to find some information on Black Gold, the Drum and Bugle Corp, but i keep finding information only on the Winter Guard, that's still active. Does anyone have any information that might be important? Or any videos of their performances.
