  1. I don['t think we'll have to worry about recruitment for next season just because Crown didn't medal. With the Ott, and the large amount of people who say they were sure Crown was going to overtake SCV....The commentators for the awards ceremony made a point a couple times or more that they even thought Crown could have overcome SCV. So even though they don't get the bronze, they left this season in a much better place that I think will improve their standing in 2020...but that's just my opinion....now just have to wait for the audio recording from tonight...

  2. I was expecting to have added something at the end where they just stand in a line. But I loved how the drum major reacted at the end. It was clear how proud of them he was...and I'm sure those kids on the field took notice of his reaction. That kind of thing just fuels their drive to do even better on the next run. Crown was the favorite in my  theater tonight.I noticed three or four people in seating below me that jumped on that opening hit, and a guy behind me that let out an audible "Jesus!"  I thought they would overtake SCV tonight. But the margin isn't that far. What did they add that they didn't have before? I noticed only a couple of things. All in all, I can see them catching SCV in the end.

Theaters make their money on Fridays already. Live event on a Thursday means more butts in seats that wouldn't have necessarily been there.

Same reason that the early-season show used to be on a Monday, even when it was a tape delay of the Saturday show.

Because theaters across the country will not give up Friday nights for drum corps. There simply isn’t enough demand to do so.

Yeah...that makes total sense.....I guess it was a dumb question now that I think about it.

  4. Are they still gunna add something to the end? It seems like the perfect to unveil it...the first time at prelims would get them started...semi's could help them get comfortable with it and then have it perfected at finals...course...that's me being optimistic. I could be completely wrong.

  5. I think there's a very high possibility that Crown and Cavies might flip flop like BD and Bloo in the last couple of shows before it's championship time. ...but on finals...Crown will come out on top of Cavies. by a slim margin. Crown hasn't peaked at all. They're scores are still increasing and at a higher and faster rate then the Cavies. I guess Cavies could them at finals, but I doubt it. There's also BAC to factor into it all as well. They just had the last three days without a show to clean. I wouldn't be surprised if they could jump ahead of Cavies tonight

  6. I've seen videos from their two recent shows...there's always  huge gasps and cringe's when they through their horns into the air after the ballad, then a nervous chuckle after it's done...what do judges think of that kind of a move....does it help the show? It makes me cringe for sure when that happens.

When they are the only top 6 corps at a show they get scored low. It happens with any corps though, because they dont have anyone below them pushing their score higher.

yeah I guess...but they were amazing non the less. Can't wait to see the final product.

  8. Well just got back from watching them in Bentonville...they were definitely holding back yesterday at rehearsal because they were so much better tonight, and it was lightly raining during their performance...which I expect is the reason the score is what it is...I think they were scored too low. But I'm bias. So much better than last years' Beast I saw live. I wish I remember what I felt after watching Inferno live in 2015...I do remember I was disappointed they didn't use the large black banner at the beginning because of the humidity. I didn't think there was much of a chance for them to place where they ended up.

Anyways...they were amazing tonight. We'll get to see how they measure up tomorrow night in Broken Arrow.

Forgive me if this has already been discussed as I'm too lazy to go through the recent pages of this thread......any word on the missing snare player? I see that the top bass is back in action after a foot injury, which is awesome to see (great recovery Anna) but also see that there are still only 7 snares 😟

I went to their rehearsal yesterday in Rogers and I heard them say they were going to have to fix the hole in drum line....I thought maybe it was a tenor but I guess it's a snare from what you said. If they're going to fix the hole, it makes me think that for some reason the snare player won't be returning. I don't know if that's the case. That's just what was said over the field mic.

I'm wondering if this will get rained out because of the hurricane storm that's moving through the area.

I was worried about that too...that's why I  drove down to Rogers to watch Crown rehearse all afternoon. We haven't had to worry about that weather at Bentonville since I've been going in 2013. Hopefully it'll stay away

Looking at the future cast looks like we don't have to worry about it.
