Crown didn’t divulge the results of the concussion protocol, but I am hoping it’s all precautionary and that the member didn’t actually sustain a concussion
I’m pretty sure I read it was precautionary

Do we know if the individual hit by the rifle Thursday was on the field last night? I know rifles are much lighter now than BITD when I marched (and were even heavier, de-milled real 1903 Springfields before that). So, I hope it was only a flesh wound.
I know he had stitches, so not sure if he would go back on right away.

Question: do all corps require their MM and staff to be fully vaxxed?
BD did

Wild that we can’t even safely call these last 3 corps the top 3 because BAC is absolutely gonna be in there somewhere. They’d make an awesome top 3.
I might get my my BD, BAC, Crown wish list

I was just talking to someone about the percussion, and I think the issue is either the writing or the pit. I think the battery is executing pretty well, but I haven't really watched the pit this year or really listened to them either. I'll probably be doing that tonight. This is all coming from someone who never played percussion though.
In 2019, I recall hearing that there were more corrections related to the pit on the tapes than the battery.

Does anybody have a list of housing sites? In particular, I'm hoping to find Crown. I can't find the info on their site anymore.

I’m watching rebroadcast on Flo.
does anyone else feel like Crowns show is way over designed? How much cloth can they have on the field?? For my eye it’s overdone and sloppy. Sometimes less is more.I love Crown. It's my home state corps and my daughter marched there. I'll be wearing a Crown t-shirt to Night Beat even though she's marching BD this year. Crown's show has lots of great moments. But I do feel like some of it was just too much. Too many colored cloths that don't add much IMO. I wanted to hear more of that fabulous playing and less of the "right here, right now."

Yes, not their best. Looked stronger in CO the other day. BUT...so many are ragging on the guard for being "rough," but oh, please. I thought they looked much stronger in some areas, with some very standout drops. Why were those so noticeable? Their work is so exposed. It occurred to me last night that the weapons especially are doing a lot of hard stuff while on the move. That hasn't been done as much lately. It's been more of the plant in spot and do work with dance. So when someone drops, you REALLY see it.
Boston, Crown and Bloo dropped as well, but often times when the whole design didn't put the emphasis on them.
And it didn’t help that some of those drops took some really unlucky bounces to where they had to chase down the rifle. But BD does some tough elements. And they have some great dancers doing some not easy dance moves. I even saw some great ballet moves out of the brass.

I hate seeing the lower tier and open class suffer so much. To mean they provided a breath of fresh air with easy to follow and interesting shows. I saw Southwind this past weekend. They are a shell of what they were in 2019.
I think the decision to move World Class to 165MM has hurt the the lower tier corps. Everyone will move up to a more competitive corps if they are able.

BD is in the middle of a nice, cool indoor rehearsal. Lucky to have that space.

That has to be a yes. Otherwise she just would have said no, right?
Or she could have just been ignoring me. 😀

Anyone know if we’ll see changes tonight?
I asked my girl that question and was met with silence. I take that as a maybe?

Watch for some drill adjustments tonight. No major changes from what I’ve heard.

I’m glad they kept the basses off the prop tonight. Big round wind catchers.

I thought playing bass drum would be fairly safe, but my daughter had a concussion at Crown when a prop took her down. She was out for a week. BD lost a contra this year to stress fractures. It’s not easy on our kids’ bodies.
