*sigh* One more reason to be ashamed of my alma mater....

I've always caught onto this... I go to Mizzou, and when I wear my MBI jacket around, everyone who knows what drum corps is, marches for the colts. In fact I have yet to meet anyone out here who has marched anywhere else, and it's almost to he point I can tell them what their conversation is going to be like. Oh, and for some reason when I go skydiving there's usually someone who knows drum corps, but I never find out, till I get one of my drum corps friends to go skydiving, and they find out.
Interesting. Never knew there were so many Colts people at Mizzou. Well, if you ever run into me, I can be the first person you meet who didn't march Colts.

So granny, the fact that this (cough cough) display has no .....ummm female mammary glands to speak of, do you silently wish the Men of Madison would dress like this for you personally ?
OR, is it that you had to use a male blow up doll from your collection to model the outfit ?
Watch out Granny, Chris Hanson might be paying you a call.
OMG OMG OMG! Words do not describe my thoughts on this picture, much less The Other Mike's commentary...
.....ok, go back to your traditions conversation. I just couldn't resist commenting....

I think the bigger concern was lightning. All of the rain delays were accompanied by lightning. (Except for the one after Pio, however the sky looked a little menacing.)
Pio did a great job in that pouring rain, they really worked it to the best of their ability. I was following the storms on the radar from my phone the whole day, there were some really large red areas on the radar!! I noticed right before they started getting us all into the bathrooms during the second tornado warning that there was NO wind. That was after some really strong gusts that was bending our pop-up banner.... Between the major downpours, lightning and continuous delays it was just crazy.
IMHO, I did think it was an awesome venue, corps looked great, it was great for the vendors being right on concourse level, and hope they do this again next year,... though without this crazy weather!!!!

Just adding my $.02, for the shows I got to see I was quite impressed. I've been "away" for a couple of years, so this was my return to a live show. Probably my favorite was Madison - loud, in your face, awesomeness. Really enjoyed Crown and Blue Stars too. Sadly missed out on a few corps (was manning a booth) but all in all an enjoyable evening of drum corps!

Troopers new uni- interesting but, I dunno. Definitely has the Troopers feel, but it looks kind of awkward. I think I'll wait to see it in action before I cast my final opinion.

Wow, awesome uniform Scouts! I saw it when it was just a sketch, but seeing it complete... wow. Sharp.

Mayor Donald E. Stephens passed away tonight. For those who do and don't know, he has been the only mayor of Rosemont, IL. Ever.
Will this mean much for the Cavies? Start your discussions...... now.

First of all! If a corps only has only 15 members or even 30 they should not be allowed to compete at the DCI level! This has nothing to do with numbers. It has to do with Managment most of the time these corps including Jester have made no real effort to recruit! You don't see any visible sign of Jester or alot of these others corps at BOA shows or even local marching band circuit shows! So you all have to stop making excuses for these corps. No reason why Jester along with many other Division 3 corps can not go out with more then 30 members.
How sad and narrow-minded of you. Why shouldn't a group of 15 or 30 kids be allowed to compete at the DCI level? Where do they go? I don't think you get it, do you. I was able to see Jester for the first time at the Walnut show. I was impressed. Jester, for being the small group that they are, put out more sound and entertainment then a number of other div III's that I have seen in the past. They knew their music, they knew their drill, and the kids played their hearts out. Even if they didn't recruit well (which I don't know so I refuse to actually comment on), they did well enough to have about 30 members. Sometimes that is where it starts.

I found the rules on it, and it only says "Due to the public nature of the program you must be of the age of majority in your country of residence to register. If you are a minor, your legal parent or guardian must make the submission on your behalf."
I know most states are 18 or 19 years old, but I think like 3 or 4 states have the age at 21... maybe they made the US at 21 to be on the safe side? I'm just guessing.

Wow. I hate to say it, but to know a Kiltie is to know that this is what he or any Kilt would have wanted. To go doing what he loved most. Blessed be.

First off, thanks for jumping in..
One idea I'm toying with is the formation of a "vintage" vet organization-style corps - one that would engage in a limited exhibition "tour" like the Royalairs and perform at major events thru the year - DCI, DCA, etc. I think this would be both educational (show the youngsters where this activity came from!) and very entertaining - a novelty for sure!
