  1. *sigh* One more reason to be ashamed of my alma mater....
  2. Interesting. Never knew there were so many Colts people at Mizzou. Well, if you ever run into me, I can be the first person you meet who didn't march Colts.
  3. OMG OMG OMG! Words do not describe my thoughts on this picture, much less The Other Mike's commentary... .....ok, go back to your traditions conversation. I just couldn't resist commenting....
  4. Pio did a great job in that pouring rain, they really worked it to the best of their ability. I was following the storms on the radar from my phone the whole day, there were some really large red areas on the radar!! I noticed right before they started getting us all into the bathrooms during the second tornado warning that there was NO wind. That was after some really strong gusts that was bending our pop-up banner.... Between the major downpours, lightning and continuous delays it was just crazy. IMHO, I did think it was an awesome venue, corps looked great, it was great for the vendors being right on concourse level, and hope they do this again next year,... though without this crazy weather!!!!
  5. Just adding my $.02, for the shows I got to see I was quite impressed. I've been "away" for a couple of years, so this was my return to a live show. Probably my favorite was Madison - loud, in your face, awesomeness. Really enjoyed Crown and Blue Stars too. Sadly missed out on a few corps (was manning a booth) but all in all an enjoyable evening of drum corps!
  6. Troopers new uni- interesting but, I dunno. Definitely has the Troopers feel, but it looks kind of awkward. I think I'll wait to see it in action before I cast my final opinion.
  7. Wow, awesome uniform Scouts! I saw it when it was just a sketch, but seeing it complete... wow. Sharp.
  8. does everyone have messed up colors on the webcast or is it just me?? If its just me, can anyone help??? thanks!!!
  9. Mayor Donald E. Stephens passed away tonight. For those who do and don't know, he has been the only mayor of Rosemont, IL. Ever. Chicago Tribune article Will this mean much for the Cavies? Start your discussions...... now.
  10. How sad and narrow-minded of you. Why shouldn't a group of 15 or 30 kids be allowed to compete at the DCI level? Where do they go? I don't think you get it, do you. I was able to see Jester for the first time at the Walnut show. I was impressed. Jester, for being the small group that they are, put out more sound and entertainment then a number of other div III's that I have seen in the past. They knew their music, they knew their drill, and the kids played their hearts out. Even if they didn't recruit well (which I don't know so I refuse to actually comment on), they did well enough to have about 30 members. Sometimes that is where it starts. JJ
  11. I found the rules on it, and it only says "Due to the public nature of the program you must be of the age of majority in your country of residence to register. If you are a minor, your legal parent or guardian must make the submission on your behalf." I know most states are 18 or 19 years old, but I think like 3 or 4 states have the age at 21... maybe they made the US at 21 to be on the safe side? I'm just guessing.
  12. Wow. I hate to say it, but to know a Kiltie is to know that this is what he or any Kilt would have wanted. To go doing what he loved most. Blessed be. Jamie
  13. First off, thanks for jumping in.. One idea I'm toying with is the formation of a "vintage" vet organization-style corps - one that would engage in a limited exhibition "tour" like the Royalairs and perform at major events thru the year - DCI, DCA, etc. I think this would be both educational (show the youngsters where this activity came from!) and very entertaining - a novelty for sure! -TGB
