I know one brass guy on their staff who is amazing, (I'm sure the rest are too) but I know with Tom Lizotte you can't go wrong. :)
Jason Buckingham, Rance Costa, and my brother Stephen Jones... ( ok yeah so im biased)... good good stuff

WOW - what a beautiful ballad .... "As Time Goes By" ..... from the Colts.
Great trumpet soloist.
Colts are great this year, and their brass staff is amazing... I hope they keep most of em on for next year.. they have nowhere to go but up with those guys .
-
Yeah.. ive technically been scum for a while now, but haent done anything.. I think we needs to plan somthin.. especially since its Kiltie Joes retirement year... lets make is special..

the point of the ESPN broadcast is so DCI can reach a wider audience. They know that if existing drum corps fans want to see full shows with unaltered audio, they will buy the DVDs. DCI does not make the broadcast tape for the fans. the intro to corps, behind the scenes, and things like that would probably be more appealing to this target audience than a few hours of full corps shows.
Im not even saying show all of teh corps.. Maybe just the top few on that format.. rahter than just snippits...at least the champion.

Perhaps a member of Spirit will "mysteriously" slip on an oil slick which has "mysteriously" developed on the "field."
or the collected spit from the spitvalves..
ok i just refrenced teh spit valve thread... how messed up is that?
oh and 1$ to snappettes mom

I refuse to believe Colts are shutout until the final score is announced tomorrow evening b**bs
Exactly.. it isnt over till its over...lots of weird stuff can happen...
-
Don't take this the wrong way dude....but the top 12 is locked. Look to the top 3 , 7-9, or 10-11 for movement.
juzt have to keep some hope .. ya know? its a family thing after all...
-
Now that I got my Earl Weaver tendencies out of my system...
Good show! Still a three-horse race. I'll still keep hoping when I'm there tomorrow. They can pull it off.
yes they can.. keep the faith..!
-
I agree.. last year was kind of a nice intro to drumcorps for the uniniated... but really seeing some full shows would be alot nicer.

I thought the scouts alumni were doing an exebition at the end... or was it earlier...
ugh im confused... i need to get past being sick.. my head is all foggy..
-
Some really cool stuff in that show. The first half is off the hook. Second half didn't grab me as much.
Really loved the passing of corps members over the top of the other sections.
Very impressive performance by the Cavaliers.
We should have their scores in a moment - the judges are using an electronic system that speeds up tabulation.
A pocket calculator??
-
Waaaaaaaaaaa!!! My corps didn't win!
I know.. it sux.. Im still hoping my boys at colts will come up with some miracle move to edge them past spirit tommorow night.
-
Rats.
theres still hope.. 2 more nights to kick it up another notch... PR can do it... Have faith!
-
Wow - the guard looks like the BORG!
We are all preparing to be assimilated.
Ive been saying Tron all year.... i keep wanting to hear that music fromteh movie... or the video game...
#### i wish i hadnt gotten all sick in syracuse, and have to miss tonight..... hopefully tommorow..
-
Awesome PR. I didn't get a chance to see Phantom this year. I hear they are smoking. True dat?
Phantom kicks tail this year.... without question...Prolly my favorite show.
-
I'm not a drummer - how badly could missing bass #5 hurt Bluecoats? (Hope that kid is ok, a poisonous spider bite?) sounds awful.
Just checking in?? spider bite?/ like a recluse?? ugh.. not a happiness... But the university has a good hospital system... he shoudl be ok.. but what a ####ty way to end his season.

Empire was next to us (Cabs) singing that while we were waiting to go on retreat for a show in 2004 (I forget which one offhand)
I had never heard it....then the end.....I nearly was rolling on the ground.
we used to sing it in the tuba line at Illinois State back in the day....
Ahhhhh great songs....
" there was a tuba of great renown..."
-
many corps who have taken time off but got back together cite all of the years, on and off.
i mean if we're gonna get nit picky about this, my god, don't we have more important things to debate like how long retreat will be this year when they add the best real bald head award?
See.. and n ow im not gonna win casue some how i got cheated out of the going bald part of chemo.... ahhh well...:P
-
that's not quite correct
The first performance by the Jr Kilites (at the time called the Kiwanis Kilites) was the Racine 4th of July parade on July 4th, 1936....they actually had a dress rehearsal on July 2nd for the parade.
Their first drum corps show was August 5th, 1936 at Horlick Field...they were in exhibition.
Pictures from the 4th of July 1936
:)
Nit pick Nit pick Nit Pick....:P
First Drumcorps show... Still a prettiy significant anniversary for the junior kilts... and an honor for the seinor group to be on the field 70 years later at approx. the same time. Without that Juinor Corps.. those origonal Men in Plaid.. there would be no Seinor kilties today... Means alot to all of us.

I would like to formally announce that the 2006 edition of Anthrax Ripple will be competing at the 2006 DCA World Championships as a percussion ensemble.
Membership will be open to chaotic members of any DCA Corps, past, present or future.
Anthrax Ripple will make 2004 Crunchy Frog look like the 1986 Sacramento Mandarins.
Or something like that.
More information coming soon.
