  1. The pettiness is real with y'all. It's easy to forget that these KIDS are performing their ##### off, dedicating their lives to an art form to not only better themselves, but to entertain us. In the end, the kids are what make this activity continue, and they keep coming back, so clearly they're OK with the decisions the show and costume/uniform designers are making. So just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show! #quityour#####ing :thumbs-up:

Thanks to the birth of Baby No. 2, whatever shows they're showing on FloMarching and nothing more. We'll see about 2018 though, I might plan a daddy/daughter trip to Pasadena with my oldest.

Congrats! My wife & I are expecting Baby No. 2 in December, so I'm clear for this summer. :babies:

With the horns alread6 silver chrome, and the clothing to be some sort of maroon and cream get-up, I'm thinking that this is a distinctively simple appearance as compared to what BD and others have used to wrap their drums. Cadets show reveal announcement and GH's comment have already spoken about props, stained glass used somehow (flags? flats? whatever) and perhaps even a mid-show change in clothing for guard and perhaps musicians. If so, then the simple look prevents an overly cluttered distraction with all that variety around them. While I know BD changed their drum wraps mid-show, sometimes less is actually more.

Indeed. Less is more in a lot of cases, this maybe being one of them. Cadets have used simple drum finishes throughout the years also, so this choice doesn't surprise me one bit. Keeps it classy.

  4. My never again list is VERY long. lol

If you think recurring is bad in DCI...go to a high school contest and be ready to hear Firebird 20 times,

the Planets 10, and New World Symphony mixed with something modern to make it fresh about 10 times. And the list don't stop there. Lol.

LOL - One of the schools I teach and arrange percussion for is doing Mars as the opener and Firebird as the closer. But the theme is VERY different...

The show is called "Fourth & Goal." We also threw Hymn of Axciom and Power by Kanye West in there. :-)
