Phoenix Fire

I believe the effort to get a minicorps off the ground in Phoenix, Arizona has reached the launch sequence. We've got some great players on board, though more horns are needed, and some great support in getting a musical program together. To repeat from a previous post: The plan is to play a Tower of Power show, or Tower of Power-type show, taking some oldies like perhaps Squib Cakes mixed with some newer things like This Type of Funk, throw in a ballad such as Still a Young Man, and put it all together to make a nice 10 minute show. The exact repetoire will be finalized shortly. It will be a beat-crazy-motor-booty affair characterized by smokin' brass.

With the above description in mind, please suggest some names.......please. Our braintrust is not coming through on the name so we need your help.

It is currently being reviewed for content corrections, etc. and lacks one more graphical enhancement.

Note to other corps web people: CSS Style Sheets are your friend - use them!!

Ed, there's a huge scandal going around the drum corps community to keep this information from you so you might as well stop asking. :P

Suffice to say that whenever DCA makes the decision and when they are ready to make the announcement there will be a HUGE headline on Drum Corps Planet about it.

Isn't drum corps awesome!!  My husband and I met in drum corps as well!  We just got married in January........and our corps, Music City Legend, played at our wedding.  It was awesome!!

Hey, I'm willing to give it a try though I've never marched with a G French Horn or marching french horn in band. Have played mello with a horn mouthpiece w/adapter. Only time I ever played a French Horn bugle it was a very old DEG 2v model and it was a beast to play.

Thanks. It helps that 4 1/2 of our 5 mellos had DCI experience. Dutch Boy, Southwind, Star of Indiana (2 of us) and one that did all Buecoats camps but ended up not marching the summer.
