  1. All the regionals are averaged together, not just Allentown. (not sure if Minneapolis is included though)

No matter if Minnesapolis is used or not, the Blue Devils are marching last on Thursday night ... the question is, will The Cadets or the Cavies march 2nd from last ...

If you include Minnesapolis scores, then Cavies ... if you exclude, The Cadets

  2. Will the performance order be decided by averaging prior scores from this season, or was it a draw among groups based on last year's finish?

It's the 2nd ... draw amoung groups based on last year's finals ...

Totally based on the draw ...

    1. Cavies

    2. Blue Devils

    3. Crown

    4. Cadets

    5. Phantom

    6. Bluecoats

    7. Madison

    8. SCV

    9. Blue Stars

    10. Boston

    11. Blue Knights

    12. Troopers

  3. For local time … same as Pacific Time because Arizona does not observe Daylight Savings time …

  5. Hope someone is paying attention to these suggestions!!!

Past few years, my spending has dropped at the DCI Market Place because of no new items and or uninteresting items …

    I have 500 T-shirts!!!

Drum Corps Mini guys is still in business by the way … http://www.drumcorpsminiatures.com/

A Crossmen Bones was in my Christmas Stocking last December 25th!

Would like to see more Christmas Ornaments …

Collectibles of any kind … like button sets … ie .. like the Cavies Championship lapel set … Cadets as well …

Actual Show flags from the previous year …

Like the Ipod cover idea …

The list could go on …

  6. Actually, the title is a "working" title ... more of an idea around a theme ... from what I heard on the call.

Honestly, when Hop went to a Powerpoint slide titled "To Tame the Perilous Skies" during Sunday's (September 19, 2010 -- cough cough) conference call , my heart rate went up ... 1992 is one of my all time favorite Cadets’ shows

The reason Hop gave for not doing it was "too many DCI folks (fans, staff, etc) say a Corps shouldn’t re-do a show like that." Guess I’m in the minority when it comes to revisiting musical selections …

It is tough to believe it’s been 18 years …

    Fixed  ...

Note to self, no posting at working

  7. "MOVE" has got to be the worst drum corps show title I've heard since Madison used Spanish words in their show titles that sound horrible when spoken in an American English accent.

  8. Jay came out of Largo High School and at one time was married to the daughter of the band director, who went on to found Suncoast Sound. I was at his final performance as a band director at Travelers Rest HS. This was at the National Band Association convention in Knoxville, TN in June. He was leaving to go to work with Jenson Publications full-time. Famed marching band innovator A.R. Casavant put together a show for the convention at the University of Tennessee stadium and Jay's band came in. They weren't all that big, but they were magnificent. The band was one of the earlier adapters of what used to be named "corps style," a direct and brassy tone with a lot of visuals one didn't normally see at that time.

Very cool to know the Great Michael Boo watched my high school marching band perform at “ An Evening with Marching Bands” event in 1980 ... Tennessee had two bands representing the state … McGavock (Nashville) and Riverdale (Murfreesboro).

On the audio recording, the Travelers Rest High School band dedicated their performance to Jay … because he was leaving the school …

They opened their show with Westside Story … awesome arrangement I might say …

  9. Just got in from the show …

Didn’t stay for the scores, but saw on my I-phone on the way home …

I predicted a score of 95.30 for BD tonight … BD is visually stunning … and yes, it is very different in person. :worthy:

A friend described them best … “it’s like eating too much cake” … a sick felling after you’ve ate too many sweets …

There is just so much going on … and it’s too much … I personally got a headache from watching the show … and no kidding …

Ok, the last piece of their show, is it really “Channel 1 Suite” played backwards?

To put it honestly, the Judging Community had become totally Jaded, but they found “Their New” in the Devils this year … It is so different from all the other corps …

They will go undefeated this season …

Cavies and Bluecoats will be fighting for 2nd … Love both productions … Both shows are my favorites for 2010 …

I’m really happy for both corps …

Crown … first part of their show is just incredible, then it just lays there a like a South Carolina CoonHound on a hot summer afternoon … Mahler is beautiful, but it just completely stalls the show … It’s almost like Crown’s staff was trying way too hard … as far as putting together their 2010 production …

Solidly in 4th place in Indy …

Ok, have to say this, who ever is coming up with Crown’s colors and uniforms needs to be taken out and beat with a stick!!! Something that came to mind … A heavy set woman in a trailer in the middle of no where say, “ I just love Velveteen.” That goes for the guard uniforms as well …

    Crown deserves so much better!!!

Cadets show is just fun  … are they currently in the right spot? Yep … Some of the changes worked well for me, but others don’t … just a young corps … really don’t know at this point where the corps is going to end up …

SCV is a tough one … Bartok is a tough one … will have to watch again in Indy to appreciate …

Regiment … beautiful show … bought tickets for a newbie family … and the oldest daughter wants to march Regiment now … I can see them pushing higher than their current spot …

Was surprised with Boston’s score … should have been higher … guard had some challenges with wind, but did well …

Music City made us local folks proud … as a 2nd year corps, doing great!

Ok, enough from me … sorry if I offended anyone …

  13. I have heard it will be decided by scores from San Antonio.

I've also heard the two night San Antonio shows will determine who goes to Murfreesboro ...

Lock in the first 7 ... who knows about the 8th ...

I guess the bigger question for me is ... who will march in the first group of 4 corps and which corps will march after intermission ...
