Also, someone posted in a review of last night's show that the trumpet soloist in Spirit's ballad fracked his solo and had an ulcer inside his mouth.
Has anyone heard anything about this?

The show is in Alabama...Bud and NASCAR are on topic :PThe popularity of NASCAR is tangible proof of the dumbing down of America. Pandering to the lowest common denominator.
NASCAR, Bud, and Drumcorps do go together.
In 2003 Spirit sold newspapers as a fundraiser in the campgrounds at the Talledega (sp?) NASCAR race. We literally waded through mud and beer can pyramids to try to sell $1 Sunday newspapers to drunks for $3 who refused to believe that it was a fund raiser and thought we were ripping them off.
I'll never forget some of the things I saw there.
I don't think they've done that since then.

Wouldn't it be better to find the average improvement so far for 2006 since the squads for the majority are completly different.

I can't believe no one has mentioned this.
9 people have voted in favor of banning ALL wind instruments.
That would include banning trumpets, melophones, baritones, euphoniums, and tubas. Yes, drumcorps would be amazing with no wind instruments.

What would happen if all green shirts were told to take a year or two off?
I really believe you would get the same exact quality from the corps. Corps' members/staff push themselves not for the next tenth, but to make the absolute best product that they can. At least that's what my corps did.
