I am a member of "Bugles Across America" an organization started by Tom Day of Berwyn, Illinois five years ago, to provide live buglers to play "TAPS" at Veteran's funerals, and other Veteran's functions as requested, now with over 5,000 BAA members nationwide. Tom has come across four Getzen G-D contrabass bugles with F# rotors, manufactured back in the '60's. BAA is looking for "donations" from individuals to purchase these instruments, in order for BAA to raise additional funds to purchase additional bugles to give to BAA members who do not own their own bugles. One is already spoken for. The other three all have working valves & rotors, with the oldest missing the rotor cap. They all have a number of dings and dents in them, since they are 40 years old. I am inquiring if there are any individuals out there who would like to make a reasonable "donation" for one or all of these "antiques". I can be contacted by e-mail: morgan86@flash.net if interested, and I can e-mail photos of these bugles.
