  1. Suffice to say Brass Ablaze just doesn't get the constructive criticism some have attempted to provide in this thread.  I hate to kick one when he is down, but this remark makes absolutely no sense.  If one opens a thread with ignorant and insensitive remarks (verbally attacking a "14 year old" and feeling perfectly fine using "########" to affix a negative connotation to something), the "vocabulary" overshadows the "opinion."  Asking the readers to separate the "vocabulary" from the "opinion" is *ss backwards... if you choose to express yourself, it is your responsibility to clearly articulate your opinion in a manner that fosters discussion of the topic you wish to discuss.  Interestingly, you might find if you express it in a more empathetic way, I believe you will get more constructive feedback and discussion.  Also, it's crap and a ridiculous cop-out to insinuate that one can’t use "########" because it’s “politically incorrect.”  It has nothing to do with political correctness; it’s flat out insulting and ignorant.

Yes but in the words of a great American....

"Political Correctness is about turning a blind eye to painful reality because your comfortable feelings are more important to you than saving lives and providing quality of life to people who work their ### off to be productive and are a benefit to this great American Dream...

The way that you eliminate bad and ugly is either through activism and policy making that never tolerates evil -- instead of the liberal politically correct policy of accepting evil and accepting other points of views that destroy lives. We the thoughtful, productive people of American have got to take our freedom back.I don't care about appearing compassionate...

... I have the right not to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird or make me mad...

..This is my life to live, and not necessarily up to others expectations.

I will not be frowned upon or be looked down upon or be made to keep silent because I have these beliefs and opinions. I thought this country allowed me that right. I will not conform or compromise just to keep from hurting somebody's feelings. " "Are you part of the problem or part of the answer?

  2. Yeah I admit, I was watching that color guard kid as well. He was really good.  ^OO^

The clip you posted showed some of the nice highlights of the show. Can you post a clip that includes some of the narration so others can hear it?

Serious question for Mr. Peashy.... Given all the controversy surrounding amplification in drum corps, what made the Cascades decide to include it in their show knowing full well that many people would dislike it? I'm sure that even if you did an anonymous polling of the actual members themselves that many of them would preferr a show with no narration to a show that includes it. What was the reason you guys added that in your show, dispite all the controversy of it?

the right clip is up fpor bdb

  3. Why is empathy always dumped into the same, generally demeaning category as "political correctness"? People aren't saying these things to be politically correct; they're pointing out things that perhaps the individual who posted didn't think of . . . and probably should have.

IMO, if we had a society which was a wee bit more empathetic to others, we'd improve the overall human condition by leaps and bounds. Or we can continue to degrade groups of people by using their condition or characteristic as an insult, and call that our "culture" (though that's veering pretty far afield of what a culture really is). It's each individual's call . . . but in a public forum, don't expect others not to stand by and say nothing.

or we can keep lowering our standards so as to not offend anyone always seeking out the least common denominator instead of expecting the most from a person. People say it's not fair but life isn't fair ...as for the human condition as a country we have slowly moved away from absolutes ..like right and wrong and we as a coun try are going to pay for it someday ..there is right and there is wrong (sorry this is kind of off the topic but it's this kind of thin king that scares the pajesus out of me) the more we cloud the area between right and wrong the further we stary from the principles that this country was built on....gay marriage ..(oxymoron) is wrong ...I won't go into alkl of the social issues one at a time ...i am not a religious right bible thumper so you can put that label away ...i am just a non practicing 40's ish Catholic who thinks we need to stop appologizing for people and start holding them accountable...okay back to our show !

  4. Good clip of OC. That's not the exact part of the BDB show I was referring to but still good none the less. Just waiting for the cascades clip to be posted now. Thanks by the way the clips are great.

I KNOW THE BDB CLIP THAT YOU ARE REFERRING TO IS RENDERING NOW i PRODIUCED THE WRONG CLIP ..YOU CAN SEE THE 8-10 YR OLD CHILD (WHO WAS REALLY GOOD BTW) IN THE FRONT OF THE CORPS NEXT TO THE PIT IN SOME SPOTS OF THE REAL CLIP

As for what Mr. Peashy of the Scades was saying ...i have to agree and I think I said in my review that the horns section which is in the clip that just finished going up seconds ago ...really showed up to play and i belive this clip ...while not doing justice to being in fron t of all that power ...at least showed (me for one) that we have some great horn players out here in the PNW...i just didnt like the narration or the set but i did not have a problem with the bright costumes ..heck look at my website I love bright colors

  5. I have to concur with my good friend from Southern California on this one... this could have been done with a little more tact.

    [/quote

CHECK OUT A VIDEO CLIP OF THAT NARRATION AND THEN TELL ME

I will have some video of that show on my website and you can hear him for yourself ...I also a short clip of OC and BDB these video clips are for discussion and instructional/educational purposes only and I have been assured by DCI's attorney's when they wrote me a nasty letter a year or so ago ...(and then I actually exchanged emails with their counsel who turned out to be a pretty good guy ..he had the best email letterhead template I've ever seen) that a short (less than one minute) clip used for discussion /instructional./educational purposes does not in any way violate their copyright and that is all these short clips are offered up as

    www.drumlineorgy.com

scroll down to the buttons on the left towards the bottom listen to this kid narrate and THEN tell us what you think check out the crusaders brass on the opener and bd drum feature while you are there

  6. I saw both shows and there was not a 12 point difference in performances as far as I could tell ...hard to see anything in Woodburn with all 12 rows of bleachers to use to get on top of a show! but a different story in Hillsboro Stadium ...home of the Killer Acoustics! OC has new uni's , a huge Division 1 sized horn section (8-10 contras anyone?) Great confidant attitude the only thing they left in EDivision 3 was their Drums ....they must have all gone to different camps....that will be their boat anchor this season ...they have great techs but they haven't gotten any better than when I saw them practice two months ago ....they will be cleen mean and green in august ...lets just hope they either get together on some drum parts or get out their can and throw some water on some very very good beats!

  7. This is my second viewing of most of these groups, as I was also lucky enough to see the San Jose show last week.

Show logistics -- My general admission ticket cost $25 bucks, which allowed me to sit either way low, or way out on the past the 25 yard line.  That's fairly steep compared to the cost of other drum corps shows, but fairly reasonable for a night of great entertainment.  I certainly enjoyed the show last night more than any Mariners game I've ever been to!  Still, I'll admit it, I had no compunctions about breaking the rules and sitting in the sections designated for high rollers.  There was plenty of room there anyway.

Venue was the huge Husky Stadium at UW.  I'm starting to like this venue more and more over the years.  The roof holds in and amplifies the sound -- good.  The stands are high, allowing one to get a good read of drill -- good.  There's a huge running track separating field and audience, so big it could accomodate a NASCAR race -- bad.  The views of Lake Washington are breathtaking -- good.

    Weather was fantastic.

well said ....I agree with everything except the "finals potential " of the Scades show and I am not onboard with their "outside the box" thinking on their show ...those weren't airplanes taking off...those were plane wrecks...you were 100% on the money with the OC comments and if I had to pick one of the corps shows that I had to see over and over again it wouldn't be PR unless I had a pillow ...it would be BDB

    On to the show...

The crowd -- I'm horrible at estimating numbers so I won't even try, but it was more than 200 and less than 50,000.  Very enthusiastic and appreciative, which surprised me considering Seattle's laissez faire attitude toward pretty much everything.

National Anthem -- well played by a 12 year-old solo trumpeter.

Corps reviews will be short on details/analysis, long on impressions.  I don't like analysing shows as I watch them.

    General Comments --

    * what is up with these Div. II/III corps?  They are awesome.  I can't believe there are people who skip out on these guys and come just for the Div. I corps.

    * enjoyed the musical selections more this year than in recent years.  Is the trend away from obscure music written by people with no vowels in their names finally over?  God, I hope so.

    * can it be DCI policy to supply every show announcer with phonetic spellings of drum major names?  Failing that, can drum majors just use fake names that are easy to pronounce?

BDB -- This is simply an excellent drum corps.  Show design fairly safe but entetaining.  Horns (I think I counted 37 of them?) were well-balanced and controlled, though not very powerful.  Drill makes great use of what they have.  I know nothing about guard, but they weren't a distraction for me, which is usually about all I can say of my appreciation for the guard.  Drum feature was highlight of the show.  Marching was very clean, forms readable.  Very strong across all captions.  Most I have ever enjoyed a BDB show.  I was looking foward to this show after seeing them in San Jose, and wasn't dissappointed!  I have little doubt they'd make finals and challenge for the top if they were going to DCI.

Oregon Crusaders -- When I first saw these guys in 2001, I remember being angry at the staff for giving them a show way above their heads.  It was one of those uncomfortable experiences where I was actually somewhat embarassed for the kids.  I remember thinking in '02 and '03 that things were improving, not because the show designs were much better, but because they were performing just enough better; not to the point where it was real fun to watch, but at least to the point where it was no longer uncomfortable to watch.  I didn't see them last year, so, naturally, I was shocked when they did so well.  So -- this was the corps I was most looking forward to seeing tonight.

Wow.  First thing I noticed was their size.  Div. I sized corps.  10 contras.  56 horns.  A pit the size of LeBrea.  Guard of 17 or so seemed small compared to the rest of the corps.  New (to me) corps uniforms look sharp, if a bit generic.  Is this the biggest corps ever to come out of Oregon?  Did the Argonauts ever have 10 contras?  Great job recruiting in an area that has traditionally been somewhat tough to recruit in!

The show -- very well designed, very entertaining, very, very, very dirty show.  Although the horn-line is big, and they were easily the loudest, fullest sound in Div. II/III last night, they have a somewhat young sound.  It's almost an old-school drum corps sound.  Harsh and brash at the cost of intonation.  Like those old drum corps recordings from 1978 corps whose names I can't pronounce.  Whether by design or accident I don't know.

The guard is, regrettably, in Aladin-type costumes.  Again, I know nothing of guard, but this guard was something of a distraction for me, with some cheesey sword-play and acted-out scenes seeminly thrown in random that, for me, added nothing and detracted much.

Show starts with some mysterious, Egyptiany sounding stuff, and then a predictable first big, loud, full horn hit.  Very nice.  I like predictable horn hits like that -- not a knock!  Music overall is kind of Egyptiany.  Very nice arrangements; appropriate for the talent level; full phrases with beginnings, middles, ends, and real dynamics -- none of this three-measures-at-ff-and-then-on-to-a-new-phrase business that seems so prevalent in drum corps today.  Some outstanding sop soloists bordering on screamers.

Drill again was well written with some big open forms.  Not terribly demanding, but tasteful.  At one point the hornline makes an hour-glass and the guard, dressed in white and carrying white silks, ran from the top to the bottom, representing the "Sands of Time" theme well.  Pretty cool.  First 2 or so minutes of the drill was fairly clean, and then the dirtyness sets in.

Bottom line -- an enjoyable, accessible show that needs lots and lots of cleaning.  Corps has come a long, long, long way in just two years.  Great work Crusaders!

Fever -- saw these guys in San Jose and was left with sort of a "blah" taste in my mouth.  Not so tonight.  This is a show that grows on you.  Big horn-line for Div. II -- I counted something like 44.  They seem significantly cleaner than in San Jose.  I'm not sure if their orange and grey uniform scheme is doing them any favors with the judges, but I appreciated their willingness to do something different.  Show is tidier than Crusaders, but less accessible.  Some cool drill moves in the opening movement were well-executed -- full corps in a block, every other line moving in opposite directions.  Guard didn't annoy me much, but their dancing, even to my novice eyes, could use some work.  The original music is interesting, if a bit dark.  It has the same feel throughout, although it doesn't all sound the same.  Deserved their placement tonight over Crusaders -- although their show design isn't as cool (IMHO), they are that much cleaner.

Spokane Thunder -- Div. III.  42 horns, 6 in the guard.  Now, that's what I'm talkin' about.  This is an excellent philosophy -- can more corps please use this horn-to-guard ratio?  First year in competition for these guys, and, I'll admit, I was expecting a train wreck.  A train wreck it was not.  Horn line had some volume at times; at others some, uh, issues.  Music wasn't "fun" and/or hummable, but it was pleasant and enjoyable.  I joked about the guard above, but only because their 6 person guard actually added quite a bit more to the show than you'd expect.  Show was very dirty; maybe a bit too difficult for the performers.  They seemed to be having fun, though, and performed with the enthusiasm and energy you love to see from a young corps.  An excellent showing for a first year corps!  Keep up the great work in Spokane!

LONG INTERMISSION -- I had time to smoke a cigarrette, use the restroom, and read 25 pages of my book.  In succession, not all at the same time.  The cigarrette and bathroom were needed and enjoyed.  The reading could have been better.

Vanguard Cadets -- regrettably, I don't have much to say here.  Show didn't really leave much of an impression on me.  They march and execute well, and have that Vanguard presence, but I just didn't enjoy it much.

Phantom -- Phantom actually went on last, but I'll review them here in one word: sweet-a-licious.

Cascades -- I think this is one of those shows that you're either going to like or you're not going to like.  Not much middle ground.  It's design is too much at the margins.  The cube props that makes an airplane; the guard uniforms; the fact of narration.  You're either in their camp or you're not when it comes to its design.  I'm in their camp.  The purple and orange guard uniforms make a statement, but it's a statement I like.  The orange cube things that make an airplane are bold, but its a boldness I applaud.  The narration is unecessary, but does that mean it should go?

I'm resigned to the fact that narration and human voice are now part of drum corps.  I bristled when I heard it San Jose, because until then, I'd never heard human voice in drum corps.  The fact of it was just so startling.  But once I got over the fact of it, I was fine with it.  The narrated parts account for, I'm guessing, at most, a minute of their entire show.  Not that big a deal, IMHO, and way less chintzy than Boston's last year.

Show design -- music good, drill, not so much.  It's music you've never heard before, save Stairway to Heaven, but its interesting and fairly accessible.  You're not going to be humming it out of the stadium, but you're not going to be wondering, as I often do watching corps, "why the heck did they play that?"  I think Stairway is probably overarranged.  It's such a powerful song, I'd leave more of the oringal structure in there; its powerful enough that it can stand on its own.

Unfortunately, I think the drill is not up to par with the music.  Very compact.  It's fast and challenging, but they don't cover much of the field.  You have a huge drum corps full of interesting colors -- use it to your advantage and spread out!  Perhaps when they clean it all up it will make more sense.  The drill in Stairway has nice moments, though.  At one point, they make a stairway that is moving toward the back corner of the field, almost like an escalator -- very cool.  Either they changed the ending or cleaned the heck out of it, because now its working for me whereas in San Jose it didn't.

Hornline is loud and powerful; good blend; a bit muddy in the low brass, at times it sounds like they have horse tongues.  Soloists don't seem to be playing with a ton of confidence; I thought OC's were better.

Overall -- noticably cleaner than in San Jose, but still noticably dirty.  That their score is less than two points better is odd.  Show has finals potential, but not sure they can clean enough to get there.  Which leads me to my next point:

    It doesn't matter.

My Not So Deep Closing Thoughts -- That's right, it doesn't matter.  I was so impressed with the overall quality of all the corps last night, and the enthusiastic reception they all got, that it reinforced for me what drum corps is all about.  Working hard, having fun, performing cool music, and making out in the back of the bus on the way to the next show.

The Cascades, Oregon Crusaders, and Spokane Thunder left me feeling particularly warm and fuzzy.  Northwest drum corps has been through some hard times; to see three corps tonight (with a combined 150+ horns!), was, in a word, awesome.  I marched in two Northwest drum corps that bit the dust in the 90s, and I'm sure I speak for every alum of a defunct Northwest corps when I say that I sincerely hope all three of these Northwest corps can keep on keepin' on.  Amazing.

  8. Probably one of the worst reviews I've read.  I'm all about honesty, as I've certainly rocked the boat calling out the things in shows that obviously don't work for whatever reason, but demeaning a kid who's only doing what he's told and referring to the product by the staff as making the corps look "silly and ########" is unnecessary.  I HAVE a mentally ######## brother, and using his handicap as a way to make your point is classless and rude.

You may have a perfect right to your opinion and that's fine.  I defintely defend your right to that.  And heck, I even agree with your summation of narration.  I can't stand it either.  But chill on the personal digs dude.

    Thumbs down.

That kind of politically correct thinking is what history will show us was the demise of our culture 50 -100 years from now it wasn't a personal dig ...he didn't like the narration or the narrator ...if everyone tip toes around worrying about hurting someones feelings it does the kid no good and it does seattle no good ...I agree with his summation of it after sitting throughn the scades show in Hillsboro the night before I almost wanted to put an ad in the post inteligencer (or whatever it's called) warning everyone ...I hate all narration unless it's to say "Seattle you may take the field for finals compeition" I love the scades and I was glad to see that Portland (defending div 3 world champions) showed up this year with new uniforms, a new attitude , a new awesome horn section that blew my skirt up a few timesbut who unfortunately left their drums back in division 3 ---yuck! all in all it's not the kids fault he isn't a narrator ..#### thats why he's in the pit because he's a good pit player. Its no shame to him that he can't narrate ...he wasn't brought in to narrate !! and thats what makes it not personal

  9. Always kind of fun to be one of the first stops of the season ...although it's more fun when you have BD and SCV come to town...too bad they would have enjoyed finally having a perfect drum corps venue like Hillsboro stadium ...lots and lots of people and OMG the accoustics were great!

THe Fever was up first and did some nice work ...equipment problems plagued the pit with parts of mallets flying around everywhere but the where they were supposed toi go. This group had the standard problems most div 3 corps always seem to have ...there were alot of free agents on the field still and they will need some touring to bring it all together watched their drums warm up ...not a whole lot happening there ...one or two exceptions ..but in as much as these guys were a late add to the show and needed to find their legs their horns sounded good and with a little more time together they should score better. but thus far I don't have the fever! I have a hard time ever getting the fever when the drum are worn tilted ...yuck. I am not one to notice all of the idiosyncracies of the color guard but you couldn't help but be impressed and you would certainly agree that One of the high points of the BDB show was seeing a kid who could not have been older than 8-10 (he looked like he was about 1/2 the size of the rest of the guard) dancing and tossing around a rifle that was as big as he was with the dexterity of a pro he was unbelievable ! and i am sure that we will see him for along time to come what with at least 11-12 yrs until he ages out . He has to come close to setting a record for the youngest member ever of a div 1 or 2 corp

I am going to clump BDB and SCV Cadets together...on my score card they were only a couple of points apart with BDB the clear winner that night. Why? BDB has got the drums I will freely admit to being a drumline junkie and I know that what the crowd wants to see are the drum features. Thats what BDB had ...I couldn't get past the matched grip technique of SCV. Both corps blew our hair back with their horns ...wow! in that stadium there was the sound of the horns that was so thick you could cut it with a knife ...Both shows left me a bit cold with the "oh yeah great show" feeling instead of the "WOW! WHAT A GREAT SHOW FEELING" no shortage of people willing to be in the color guard for either corp great costumes great sound very well rec'd by the crowd but that night BDB had the drums by a significant margin and could have played with anyone. In fact they weren't just playing with anyone they were playing with the Division 3 world champion Crusaders on their home turf in fornt of their home crowd.

This years now Division 2 Crusaders I had seen practice a few times and I felt really confidant that if Seattle showed up[ with the same level of preparation as last year in Woodburn that they were going to be embarrassed by their neighbors to the south. The Crusaders have alot more than new un iforms going for them this year ...Horns !! aned alot of them wow! when they did the classic drum corp move of playing softly with their backs to us and then turning around at once and letting us really have it my hair stood straight up with glee! great music selection in fact i would say as music goes it was about the only shopw whose music I could really get my arms around . What the Crusdaers didn't bring to Division 2 with them unfortunately was their drums ...as wow as their horns are good their drums were as big a wow bad! It's one thing to have a guy one the end who ticks once in a while but there were a few times that the snares were playing different songs ...didn't these guys show up to camp? they have a long road to hoe to get back east and hopefully with time they will get it together and start to gel otherwise its going to be along bus ride They haven't gotten one chop better than when i saw them almost 2 months ago...time to get out the water and water down some really fantastic beats in the name of scoring. There is a whole new attitude among the members and no longer did they look like anything but the 04 div 3 champs that they are. They are also hurting in the color guard dept whiuch will ost them points ..they aren't bad they just aren't very many

Seattle must have heard that Portland was going to start being a factor to contend with because they sounded and looked as good for this point in the year as I have ever seen them certainly a whole lot better than last years dissappointing group the drums played well together with the exception of the far rt side of the snare line who couldn't adjust to the phasing in the stadium or something musically they sounded great good horns with a big big sound but they lost to BDB on my score card in all areas ...their show included some large tubular circles (think giant hula hoops) triables and squares which they incorparated well into the show but I never got the feeling that they added that much or were ever necessary ...my only lingering thoughts were of the task of putting them together and taking them apart a hundred times between now and mid august. The narration was an abortion ...I don't like people talking during a movie while I am, trying to listen to the final part of it any more than I like having to tolerate a narration through all of the best horn parts by a narrator who isnt one! Lose the narration put it in the program and let me read it myself ...the guard uni's were certainly bright and the airplane kites buzzing around didn't add what I was hoping it would and in fact doesnt work the scades need to clean and jerk!

Phanton Regiment also brought their horns with them and if anyone was im pressed with the quality of the horns and the acoustics up to that point they really had their skirts blown up by the regiment. wow! I have never liked all of the tilting and posing that PR does in their shows nor do I think that deep knee bends constitute marching and while I have always thought of PR as being Horn heavy (especially after the 03 show ..unreal!) why would you have as good a drumline as they have and not turn them loose on the crowd at least for a few measures up front ..they spent the entire show rotating back and forth in the back and on both sides. I noticed that they have picked up at least two defectors from the snare line of the crossmen of two guys who had very very good chops two years ago when I ranked the Crossmens snare line second only to BD that year. They had had enough of being the "people's Champion's" and the Judge's doormat and decided to trade up a few notches only to drum in almost total obscurity in the back half of the field. Apparently someone else must have noticed because I heard a very loud "GO BONES" yelled out just before they started their show ...wouldn't thoise two have freeked out if Bones had come over the fence there like he likes to do in allentown? What can I say Phantom sounded great and looked great with some cleaning they will be top 6 this year but they will have the same problem that the cavaliers had in 03 ...a show and music that isn't ####ty or not well thought out ...but a show and music that just seems very forgettable. It's not a championship show and no amount of cleaning will make it one. Thier color guard also did a great job ..looked great ...performed great (I predict that phantom will score up to the 90-92 range this year and finish 6th ...maybe a drum feature with all of the horses in the drumline would move them up from there.

  10. b**bs HERE IS A REPRINT OF MY REVIEW FROM RAMD GOOD TO SEE SO MANY INTERESTED OREGONIANS....HI GOLD SMITH!

I Was lucky enough to see BD and SCV and Seattle in both Woodburn and Kelso

Washington. The BD snare and Quads line only switched out and replaced 3

people this past year due to age. Do you think those guys sounded good and

clean? Yes they did! Someone has spent alot of time working with the snare

line on visuals already and they had them al. I don't know if Ive ever heard

a quad line sound this tight and clean at this point in the season man were

they on with more visuals than they ended the season on last year musically

they weren't quite an 80 plus corp yet but the new show has all the right

elements they need to repeat: Called "The Summertime Train Blues Mix" you

were to get on the train with BD and the ghoats of Blues musicioans past you

got Gershwins Summertime and others as the train moved you from Missipssippi

to Kansas City and Memphis and finally Chicago getting a little flavor of

that cities blues from each stop ...great soprano parts that only dogs and

cats can hear and the awesome drumline that I think is wekll enough written

to finally get these guys the high percussion that the last few years just

wasn't to be. If anyone wants Ive got a video of the whole show (sorry dci)

as well as some parking lot film that shows the drums up close and

personal~! SCV has a good show and as always it sounded drum heavy ...and I

like drums ! but these guys ticked standing still in the parking lot

however their show which gopt them good solid scores in the high seventies

at both stops was great. Their show was called ATTRACTION: The Music of

Scheherazade from Koraskov's Scheherazade. (In case you don't know the

music or the story it is about a jealous Sultan who executes his ever

changing stable of wives when he tires of them...he gets put under a spell

by the executioners daughter who weaves a fantastic set of intricate stories

to maintain the Sultans interest through the "One Thousand and One Nights"

upon which he removes her appointment with the executioner) great music good

show very gray! they just need more polish than they have and alot more

polish to challenge for the top 3. Seattle has a good show "Nature's

Confession" with the music taking you thu all four seasons and is very

indicative of what life in Seattle is like throughout the year Seattle 's

drumline was ridiculously dirty (snares and quads..mostly snares) their bass

line was not as good as the division three Portland Crusaders (great bass

line Portland!) Seattles strenght this year appears to be their horns WOW!

very powerful and very raw in spots can't wait to see them later in the

season... The Portland Crusdaers were good! I mean not BD/Cavies good but I

predict that they will be in the hunt in Division 3 this year during the

finals...finally! Thier show was called something like "Metro Metal" with

the corp testing the characteristics of three different metals it needs some

serious polish but for the first time I can say that they have the bodies

and talent in place to and actually have something to polish. All in all

it's easy for you east coasters to sit back and debate "oh will it be the

Cavies or the Cadets this year" (and for my money I would rather watch "the

peoples champions" the Crossmen any day ....GO BONES!!) but don't forget

while we may not have alot of Corps out west here ...but we make up for it

in quality!! ... and wev'e got the Iron to show for it... Don't start giving

away the title until the West Coast weighs into the decision because who

ever wins the title this year you can bet their going to have to go through

    Concord to get it!.............Roger
