Brad Furlano has made a statement in the misconduct thread

I'd like to believe things are better. They are growing and learning, just as we'd want them to be.

    FCO

I have known Brad since 1994. And I recruited Russ Gavin to march in 1994. Both are amazing people and only want the best for the marching members. I am sure they are doing what ever they can to fix this.   From what I have seen from when I am around, members are treated with respect. But also pushed to better themselves to be best they can be.    I would leave my daughter or wife in one or both of there hands that's how much I trust they are doing the right thing.

well at least give him a clip board and a pencil behind the ear.

Out this way, construction guys aren't allowed off site once they clock in for the day. Those little silver trucks drive to the job sites and deliver the coffee, danish, and sandwiches.  I can imagine that as an intermission half-way through the show, I mean construction.  Maybe use the pit's golf cart decked out in platinum sides...:hehe:

haha.. totally  I think the clip boards and pencils will be added mid season for a GE push !

The general contractor looks naked without a Home Depot cummerbund. Get him one, maybe in a different color.

Most construction supervisors that I know do not sport tool belts. They usually just tell people to get working and then get back in to these diesel trucks and hop over to kwik trip for a large big buddy and a few roller dogs

  4. The Madison Scouts were .95 behind SCV yesterday, the Blue Stars were exactly 1 point behing SCV the day before, that is a different of .05. I don't think the Blue Stars fans have anything to be worried about in regards to the Madison Scouts, the two corps are neck and neck. What an entertaining season we have on our hands!!!! thumbup.gif

    Like !!!

  5. Probably not as large as some of the other top 12 ones (due to having smaller corps sizes for 20+ years, thus a smaller pool to pull from), but it does put together a parade corps for the oktoberfest parade every october. And... while smaller, it still drinks the beer of a larger alumni association. cool.gif

    +1 I like This

  6. Speaking of curious " props ", I like the Blue Stars show this year, but man, is there any chance that the Blue Stars could maybe consider having the solo guard marcher chuck that leather cupless bra thing he's wearing ? I have nothing against men wearing women's clothing on their own time, but it's not helping the Blue Stars in performance before the public in my opinion. I wasn't the only one in my theatre that had raised eybrows with this. Just an observation, and good luck to the Blue Stars this season.

it looks like they got the uniform idea from the movie school of rock

Dont gig me wrong I love Blue Stars show but that top thing has to go !

  7. The cash only served to ensure that they could get down the road without problems, had a great design, and that members could know that they were with a stable group.

It still boiled down to the corps, not the money.

I am not saying it was just the money Star was a great corps

    but

if you dont have the cash to get down road you cant compete..

I also am not trying to say scouts have no money ..I am sure they are fine !

  8. The differences behind Star's entrance into DCI with Mason's backing, and Mason becoming involved with Madison are significant to the point of being incomparable. Personally I disagree with your statement of that era of drum corps being more compettitive. Frankly I think the reason Star made it into top 12 their first year was because of a LACK of compettition in the low end of top 12, and a huge drop off in compettitiveness in the Semi's range. The battle for finals these days is MUCH more compettitive than it was back then.

At this point, I think Madison could place anywhere from 9th to 14th next year, give or take 8 places.

that and the cash backing of the cook group !!

  9. I am sorry that it is not ..

I totally understand because I marched in div 2-3 corps I might never have a chance to get my videos and cd every because DCI has no want to publish them its not there fault they are just doing what they do for a living

because DCI decided they could not profit from the sale of those dvd cd's

hopefully something will develop in the future
