  1. of course they can... there are two girls at glassmen this year who hold the horn up bettern than I.
  2. I haven't seen a review for this show on here yet, so I thought I might do one. Bear with me, I haven't done this before 10. Impulse (80.55) - One of the more entertaining corps of the night. They did a show with Lucy in it. Very much fan oriented, very much like VK of old, which was good memories. However, their marching, and the cleanliness of the forms, were not up to the entertainment factor. 9. Allegiance Elite (80.95) - The cleanliness of the show was much greater than that of Impulse, but the show left me with nothing in the way of GE. 8. Patriots (82.60) - One of the smaller Div. II's here, their guard was the highlight of the corps. They had some good guard solos, but their brass and percussion didn't come up to the guards level. 7. Esperanza (83.55) - Being first on hurt their score. I liked the concept of the show, the rise and fall of empire, and I personally enjoyed it more than some corps which placed higher than them. Plus they played music from Star Wars, which is always a plus 6. Capital Sound (83.75) - There were only 2 things I can remember from this show. One was the "Gumby"-like guard costumes 5 of them put on and started to harass the corps members. The other was them pulling a move from their big brother corps, with a Pirates-like drum break. 5. Spartans (87.30) - Returning to what got them into Quarters last year, they played music from Gladiator again, and also took us to other movies of heroicism. Spartans began the "upper tier" at the show where the marching and show concepts were light years ahead of the others at the show. 4. Vanguard Cadets (88.90) - The SCV cadets had probably the best brass line there, with the exeption of Magic, they could play their show, and well. I loved their music, and the show, they were one of the more entertaining of the night, with their nice deep brass sound. 3. Mandarins (90.40) - Playing the music of Philip Sparke, this show brought back memories of the Cadets in '97, in fact I think that the opener was the same arrangement as that which the Cadets played. They were crisp with the forms, some of the note runs were sloppily played which may have cost them 2nd place. 2. Capital Regiment (90.65) - Probably the only show that I saw with the reperoire and show to compete with Magic for Div. II. However, they were dirty, many of the forms were patchy and not pleasing to look at. The music on the other hand was enjoyable to listen to; many soloists that all played them wonderfully. If they had more time in the season I would look for them to gain on Magic some, but with only 2 days as I post this, it would take a miracle. 1. Magic of Orlando (94.55) - WOW! That is about the only thing I have to say. They were clean, entertaining, and fun to watch. One of the first shows period that i ever saw, was Lassiter 1998's version of The Wind and The Lion, and it was a wonderful show. I didn't want to expect too much, for fear that I might be disappointed with it. Believe me, they did not disappoint. With their show, and their intentions to go Div. I, next year I would not be surprised at all to see them make Semi's, and maybe even clip a few of the lower corps in the 10-16 group that is struggling to make finals. It was easy to see why they finished almost 4 points ahead of the rest of the field, and I look forward to see them at finals again, either as the Div II exhibition, or even making it just by their score (It could happen)
  3. Phantom '93.... without a doubt... but then maybe it's because everytime I get to Fire of Eternal Glory, I keep trying to jam the volume louder... , if not the loudest I've ever heard, it's certainly one of the greatest "moments" I know of.
