I have to say, I have SCV playing Flash Gordon Hendersen in the background and I'm reading this...and my lovlely wife just ordered pizza...*sigh*...
-
Admit it, you're all here hoping I tick somebody off and start a fight.
I'm always hoping for that...but this isn't the Jr area, so not likely to happen.
-
Not so fast. Only retired from competing! LOL.
That's what the pit is for...
-
Linda;
tell him he's not alone. I am not dealing with this as well as I thought....
Ya, I'm not looking forward to saying, "Welcome to Walmart", either....
-
Two soprano soloists in the pit. One squeals, the other double tongues, then they both make dogs cry.
Wasn't that a Prince song....hmmmm
-
Beautiful mellophone solo to start the third piece. Guess who's the soloist?
Baritone has now joined her, as well as the flugel soloist on the other side of the pit.
Oh oh oh I know!!!!
-
WHOA. Wait... ... does someone actually try that out there? That would be so awesome...
That's what I'm say'n...make 'em sound like an engine firing up!!!

Funeral For a Friend

One More Time Chuck Corea

Amazing Grace
Bring it Renegades!!!!
-
Ensemble clarity during the dual melody moment in YPG was a problem, both between horns and drums and within the horn line.
Bummer...
-
I don't even know who Richard Cheese is. Time for some Google research.

A little OT...
-
Maybe our on-site commentators could relay that to Mr DeMello.
Garry in Vegas
That would be super....
-
Next on the field are the Brigadiers. Their 2009 program is entitled "Pictures At An Exhibition" and consists of:
Premenade (from Picture At An Exhibition)
Snow Caps
With Each Sunset
The Red Machine
A Young Person's Guide To The Orchestra
Wow, YPG??
I'd like to hear that...
-
Was that the Richard Cheese version of Hot For Teacher? If so, I've been waiting for someone to do it. It's a great arrangement!
I love that cover!!!
That would be worthy of the DCA stage.
-
I told Key I wouldn't critique his arrangements, but I have to say I really like the book he wrote for Bush.
Has anyone else seen Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle?
-
Did they pull of the bass drum intro to Hot for Teacher?
-
Last corps for Class A is the Govenaires. Their 2009 program is entitled “Summer of Seduction” and consists of:
Crazy Little Thing Called Love
Lust
Hot for Teacher
I would love the hear the bass parts for "Hot for Teacher"!
-
Probably just didn't understand why he wasn't seeing Open Class reviews. Not everybody understands the DCA Finals format.
Yes, thank you....
-
Oh this is A class...sorry. I was wondering WTF?
-
Low brass needs to be more articulate. Attacks are a little mushy during Verdi's Requiem, which has a lot of exposed note attacks in the low end.
It is very challenging...a favorite of mine I would be cringing if I was there.

we all turn into our Dad's eventually. I'm just glad he's not wearing the shorts with the black knee socks and the patent leather shoes...
And the metal detector....
-
Go Ho Ho's!!
Mmmmmm...but you have to freeze 'em...
