  1. Govies Guard score @ St. Peter show was 17.8

In my best Ed McMahon voice. You are correct sir.

I picked up the Govies Guard score the first time round. This list should be more accurate. I think the only corps I am missing is Renegades and Cincinnati tradition.. I think the only score we have for them is a DCI score?????

2nd MBI 186 St. Peter, MN

    3rd Hurs 184 Secaucus, NJ

  2. Seems like both groups did well. MBI with a 76-something and Govies with a little more 64. Something that I noticed regarding the numbers report was that the Govies are under the 35 limit (at least at the show), I am assuming they have some holes or that they had some people that could not make the show since it was on a weeknight.

Go job to both! Sounds like MBI has a show that could give the Bucs a true run for their money!!!

Ah, re-check your math...... Govies had 39 marching members on the field tonight..... and that was with some that were not able to make it to the shows due to a death in the family and other conflicts!

  3. It may be frigid in St. Peter MN at the present time but not for long.....

  4. Congrats Vigilantes!!!!

It has been an enjoyable spring/ summer watching the growth of the new corps!

You guys are great "sports".... All year you were looking for a way to hit a home run!

    whether it was:

*** Allowing me to visit during a rehearsal camp

*** Run the bases with the few suggestions that I had made

*** Supporting the other corps in the region

I could go on and on, but I need some sleep ;)

Congrats again - so proud of you!!! Can't wait to see what is in store for 2010!

  5. Memo to the Class A corps who are struggling to play and march their shows: Take a good, long look at the DVD of the Govenaires from this year. THAT is how to program a show for a small corps. Great staging...honest to God, from upstairs this corps sometimes looks twice the size it actually is, thanks to the outstanding staging....achievable music and visual, and a solid performance and execution level across the board. It's a winning combination. And when you throw in the Govies' knack for REALLY having fun out on the field, you have one terrific drum corps.

Fran, I'm really sure The Govenaires will really appreciate the nice comments! I will pass the word along to them (unless they have already read this)

WOW, THANK YOU SOOO MUCH Fran!!!

It was great seeing Fran and Barbara back in Rochester this weekend! Wish I was able to chat longer.........

  6. The members of the Govenaires always look like they're having way too much fun performing.

If there is such a thing as way too much fun.

    Fran

There is no such thing as too much fun ;)

We are having a blast on the field again this year! Sometimes I wonder how we are so productive at rehearsals when we have sooo much fun.

  7. Ok Guys and Gals...... Take a deep breath, cool Down!!!!

My question to you all that are being so negative........... Why are you trying so hard to hurt a drum corps? There have been so many corps that have become inactive due to so many reasons, we don't need to have more corps go down due to negativity on DCP!!!! We need to keep this activity that we love dearly growing!

With that being said - go Vigilantes!!!!

  8. The big question now is will Amber go out and march in the Winter Parade or will she have a meeting and get out of the cold.

    Good Luck Govies!!!!

Thanks Dick! That is a great question, but don't think there will be a meeting that soon..... Anyways - the winter p-rades are a ton of fun ;) Yes we are crazy!

  10. The Govenaires are pleased to annonce the return of Winterguard for the 2009 Season.

Building on our success from ‘08, this season will again focus on quality of training and entertainment while maintaining efficiency in rehearsal. We are currently looking for new membership!!

To be a part of the ‘09 season, please attend our two-day audition / get-to-know-you process from 12-4pm on both November 16th and 23rd. These days are to ensure the following: in order to design you into the show in a way that highlights your skills yet challenges you just enough, we need to know what you do and how you do it. Yes, you will be learning new skills and bending your experiences into our basics and choreographic style, but we also want to know what you're good at. Further, do you play nice with others?

Rehearsals will begin December 7th, and run on Sundays throughout the season

If you have any questions or would like to attend auditions, please email director Jeffrey Peterson @ guardancer@aol.com

Looking forward to a successful Winter!

  11. This is outrageous!!! You should all be ASHAMED, I tell you ASHAMED!!!

All this talk about beer - the Devil's brew - and even worse, getting it on Sunday!!!

I'm afraid I'm going to have to tell Tom Peashey about this. This just isn't the drum corps that we all know and love. I'm going to have to ask Mr. Peashey to make a motion at the DCA Board Meeting that any corps that drinks beer before, after, or during a performance be banned.

    Monsignor Andyroo

Hmmm, guess that would be all corps then especially after!
