Thanks, Amber!
We had a fantastic turnout! Frontier grew today. 'Grew' is an understatement.
That is awesome news - Congrats :)
-
Thanks Vic, Mark and everyone!!!!!
Can't wait for the season to begin ~
-
Forecast calls for low 70's - such a shame not to have drill rehearsal!
That is a shame...... hehe :)
Good luck tomorrow Frontier - hope you have a great turn out!

Excalibur's are pretty good. Kings are best, but Excalibur's look pretty similar and are cheaper. Just kind of depends on how much money you want to spend.
Excalibur's are fine - but the blades are more likely to break in half....... My HS guard has these and have broken 2 so far this fall season.

Anniversaries are great things to celebrate.
Congrats on 25 great years! Best of luck in 2008!
They are indeed :)
Congrats Empire! Looking forward to many more years of entertainment from ya'll!

Exciting news!!!
Hope the timing works with my groups schedule.....
See you there

That's right - you read that correctly!!! Govenaires did not end their 80th Anniversay year yet!
Come see the Govies end their 2007 Outdoor Season this Saturday, September 8th:
What: Gusties Halftime Performace by St. Peter Govenaires
Where: Gustavus Adolphus College - St. Peter, MN ***In a brand new stadium***
When: approx 2pm (or whenever halftime is) *Game starts at 1pm
Well Folks, Govies have now completed their 2007 Outdoor Season..... What a terrific way to end the 80th Anniversary Season ~
The crowd was very responsive.... It was kinda strange seeing all the College Footbal fanactics enjoying themselves during our performance. Not only were they enjoying, they pointed back at us (you would have to watch our show to understand this) and best of all we had received a standing Ovation at the end!!!!!
The new Hollingsworth Stadium is AWESOME! We can't wait to host our 2008 home show there! The stadium is like a mini Dekalb but way better :) We will post pictures as soon as they are available...... but till then - those of you travelling to MN next August - be prepared to enjoy the new site!
-
Yeah - I think I can be tremendous this year.........
Watch out cause here I come..... Hehe
-
More than welcome to travel to St. Peter, MN :)
I can't wait to see you guys!

Govies had 104 drill charts this year

The Govenaires would like to Congratulate the Sunrisers on their superb performances and their Class A Title this weekend! You guys were amazing and jumped thru many obsticles this winter!
We would also like to thank the Sunrisers Staff and their whole colorguard for your great sportsmanship with the announcement of the Colorguard Caption score errors.......
When Sun's guard came over and congratulated the Govies guard for the guard title - we knew that you have lots of class and are great Sports!!!!
Congrats and thanks again :)
-
Very nice JC!
I'm one of your favorite Govies - yeah - I am so touched :)
-
14th Year for me in the Govies :)
-
The show was called/ cancelled due to lightning........
It was a very hard decision to make but I care about the safety of all the members and of course our fans :)
-
I’m not sure how they handled scores at the Midwest show. We understand two percussion judges were unable to make the show because of transportation problems.
We called in replacement judges
-
Stuff happens, I am just glad the Govenaires were able to find another venue, so close, so fast.
Many DCI, WGI, and other shows have gone by the wasteside when a venue becomes unavailable at the last minute.
Looking forward to the weekend trip, just make sure the weather is nice :)
Nothing would have stopped the Govies from hosting a show - we would have found a way some how :)
If you do get a chance this weekend - you should drive by the new stadium at Gustavus as a preview of next years site! (or I will just have to tell ya how it is after we perform at half time @ the 1st home game Sept 8th)
Safe travels to all that are travelling to MN!
Don't miss out on the fun - travel to MN
-
The Drum Corps Expo on Sunday, August 19th will be held at St. Peter High School
Address:
100 Lincoln Drive
St. Peter, MN 56082
(is across the Street - North from Gustavus Adolphus)
Start time = 2:00pm
As of early this afternoon the old stadium was demolished and the new stadium is approx a week away from being ready to use!
-
Strange .. I thought I recognized those back stands. So Amber, do you really think they'll trust a bunch of old people meandering over their new field? We might cause some damage or sumfin.
hehe - well I don't know about some of ya'll (just kidding)
Well, If we cant use if for Drum Corps Expo - the Govies are performing in that stadium for the 1st official home game on September 8th so we'll let you know how it is....
-
You are correct - that is a brand new stadium at Gustavus - we will not know if we will be able to host the show in the new until after this weekend.........
We are also excited for the upcoming shows
See you all very soon
-
I have talked to most of our members from the Twin Cities area and are okay......
I will give you the update as soon as I have everyone accounted for!
Thanks for thinking of us :)
-
Many thanks to the City of Salem, Audrey & the Chamber, & Allen B...... to make this weekend a success for the Govenaires!!!! (both on and off the field)
