Sad News: Passing of a Crusader Extraordinaire

It is with Deep sadness and regret to pass on the news of the passing of Music Director and Drum Major Edward "Doc" Mizma

of the Championship 1965 Rochester Crusaders. "Doc" was a true Gentleman and fierce competitor designing the music for the "Fabulous" Crusaders in the 60's.

May God welcome him into the pearly Gates with open Arms and enjoy his talent with God's Drum Corps!

Mizma, Edward J., PhD

Webster: Unexpectedly and peacefully on July 17, 2007. He is survived

by his wife, Deborah; children, Lisa (Mark) Fox of WV, Steven

(Toni-Marie) Mizma of Hilton, Michael Mizma of TX and their mother, Lois

DeWitt, Kimberlie (Daniel) Stowell, Tara (Jeffrey) Sulecki of Victor;

grandchildren, Scott Fox, Mitchell & Aaron Mizma, Elisabeth & Luke

Stowell, Sienna & Tristan Sulecki; sisters, Louise (Richard) Eggleston

and Helen Mizma; mother-in-law, Phyllis VanGelder and other close family

and friends. Edward was a retiree of Kodak. He was Director of New

Horizons Band and Chorus, Greece Songsters and former Music Director of

the Rochester Crusaders. Edward was also past director of other choirs

and bands.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, 11 AM, at the Asbury First

United Methodist Church, 1050 East Avenue, Rochester, NY 14607. You are

invited to bring a written memory or favorite photograph of Edward for

the family's memory book. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his

memory may be directed to the Asbury First United Methodist Memorial

Fund or to the Eastman School of Music-New Horizons Band and Chorus, 26

Gibbs Street, Rochester, NY 14604. To light a candle in memory of
