Isosceles
I'm looking for a 14" Dynasonic marching snare. I have the snare bridge and I can refinish(rewrap). I can fix extra holes, so it doesn't have to be in great shape. Thanks

Paul Milano
Sounds like you must be the lucky guy assembling the Cavies alumni drumline. Kind of . . . I have worked with some of my marching mates to put together 12 vintage TDRs and 14 vintage Dynasonics. We've already refurbished and rewrapped the TDRs (see below) and are now getting to work on the Dynasonics. Had our first camp last weekend. ONLY 19 snares were able to attend. Lots of fun!!! MarimbasaurusRex
Did they ever make a marching dynasonic that was 14"? Could probably make one by taking the strainer from a 14" concert snare and putting it on a 12x14" shell.

There is a guy that has a couple from the Pearl forum, but he apparently isn't interested in selling. Here is a link to the thread I started over there. Not a real nice guy . http://www.pearldrummersforum.com/showthre...age=1&pp=12 There are some pictures on the second page of the thread of some 14" Dynasonic marching snares. Paul Milano
WHOA.SO the alumni corps is going to be using at least 19 of those drums?? thats going to be an amazing thing to see We're still working out all the details. We may use the "vintage" drums for the first half of the show and then use Yamaha "modern" (Kevlar) drums for the second half of the show. We are also experimenting with using the Mylar and the Kevlar at the same time, but we don't know about that yet. We may use slings with the vintage drums and then carriers with the Yamahas, or we may go carriers (angled) for the whole show. Haven't figured it all out yet. We're trying to get some more snare drummers but the 18 - 20 we have now are pretty sweet already! We were able to play through three songs (about six minutes of music) with the horns by the end of the first weekend camp. In fact, we were cleaning small parts of each song and fine-tuning all the dymanics. Everyone came to the camp with virtually all the music already learned for the first three songs (horns and drums included). Pretty impressive. We probably have about eight more minutes of music to learn, plus one drum solo. The compromises being made by the vintage drummers versus the modern drummers are going very well. No egos. Everyone is having fun learning each other's techniques and teaching each other tricks from our eras. Kevlar versus Mylar drumming is clearly a very different technique, but each era is getting accustomed to the different surfaces pretty easily. We should be able to switch back and forth just fine in another eight months. Right now we have 12 vintage era drummers (pre-1980) and six modern era drummers. You should have heard us all the first time we got the 17-count snare roll in Bully clean. It was a trip. All the horn players started screaming and cheering too. Goose bumps . . .
