The Bushwackers continued to keep their winter in high gear with a terrific Brass and Percussion Camp on February 9th and 10th.

Progress and momentum were the hallmarks of a tremendous weekend as the Bushwackers Brass and Percussion Sections rehearsed at Old Bridge High School. All eyes are now looking forward a Full Corps rehearsal on February 24th (also at Old Bridge High School).

5 quads (with one missing), a great bass line, and a smoking hot snare line gave goose bumps and high hopes for the summer. And, the brassline continued to make strides. Brass Caption Head and Music Director Joe Exley was particularly excited about one portion of the show that was worked on this weekend saying “I'm amazed that we pieced that mother together so quickly! This is a tune that is mostly in 9/8!”

A high point of the weekend was when the battery, the pit, and the brassline ensembled the ballad portion of the 2008 show on Sunday afternoon. Key Poulan and Bob Cizmarik have written a unique take on a ballad that is phenomenal and sure to get people out of their seats. It is certainly not a typical drumcorps ballad.

The Bushwackers are really excited about our 2008 show and the progress that is being made this winter, and we are eagerly anticipating the full corps rehearsal on Sunday February 24th. There are still some spots available, so please go to www.bushwackers.org for more information if you are looking to add some excitement and accomplishment to your Spring and Summer.

The parade tune, named after that wonderful pool game, should be kicking throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut parade routes all summer long!!

You won't believe the progress since Open House.
