One point - you say "they 'only' scored and 89.05, which isn't a GIGANTIC number."

However.... that 89 came on March 15. Indiana has their finals several weeks earlier than most states.

That was the highest SO score in the ENTIRE NATION up to that point in the season. Nobody scored higher than that until the Power Regional weekend 2 weeks later.

I hadn't thought about it until you said it that way, but I was kinda doing an "apples to oranges" comparison of LC's Indiana state finals score to other group's WGI finals scores.

Indiana did, indeed, conduct their state finals in the middle of March.

So, for that point in the season, an 89.05 actually was an amazing score.

IHSCGA has no direct affiliation with WGI. From what I recall a WGI staff member telling me over the phone a few years back, "They do their own thing in Indiana." So, I reckon their local scores wouldn't even enter into the argument. But... I do agree... They're world class.
