Jimpic75
To Blue Star alumni and fans. Just looking to find the name of a song the Blues Stars played in 1968. The Blue Star's Web site lists that their concert was "Hall of the Mount King: and their exit was "Up, up and Away". If you listen to the 1968 VFW Nationals, Vo.l 2 in which they are on, there is a song which they played "out of concert" and is not listed anywhere. It's a pretty catchy tune. Any one know what the name of that song is?

Jim Anello
The song they played right after "Hall Of The Mountain King" was "And This Is My Beloved", from Kismet. Which was based on a string quartet by Alexander Borodin.
tommytimp
Which was based on a string quartet by Alexander Borodin. And what was the only completely original song Wright and Forrest wrote for 'Kismet?'
Jimpic75
The song they played right after "Hall Of The Mountain King" was "And This Is My Beloved", from Kismet. Thanks for that information. I am surprised that a song was not listed in the 1968 repertoire. It just slipped through the cracks I guess. Thanks again!

Trying to document drum corps musical repertoires can be a challenge. Many times the only published reports of music to be played comes early in the winter or spring, and by the time the end of summer comes along there may be different songs actually played. Of course if you have recordings of the corps you know what was played the day of the recording, but it doesn't always represent what the repertoire may have been at other times during the summer.
