BlooooContra Posted May 19, 2003 Share Posted May 19, 2003 With contra holes, usually the new guy/girl has a WAY more difficult time marching, and tends to stick out like a sore thumb, or at least a sore 40lbs. piece of metal on a shoulder. Marching can be taught; playing is a little tougher this point in the season in the drum corps environment. I think the idea is... you can hide a bad playing by cutting them out of parts, but you can't hide a bad marcher. Some people are just bad... and can only learn so much.
