Thanks Albion - you should come on over for a fun weekend in January - you can go to www.optimists-alumni.org for more info - bring your friends - remember Albion from many years ago. Are they still around? Love to hear from them.

Only 6 days laft till the Optimists Alumni Open House - If you live in Southern Ontario or Western NY you need to be there. A great great reunion opportunity and a chance to sit in.

See you on Sunday in Welland - it sure beats football

Thanks

Rick

"warmer weather coming from west, all the best at

Open House in Welland Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010 :-)"

Thanks it's hard to believe that in just 48 hours we throw the doors open to The Optimists Alumni's first ever "on the road" Open House. We're proud of the program we're putting together for 2010 and hope you get a chance to see it first hand on Sunday in Welland.

I hope the corps has a very successful weekend.

I was contemplating coming down to see if the hospitality suite was up to par, but this going back to work after a brief holiday thing is not what it's cracked up to be - I'm already behind and eveyone seems to think I don't have enough to do already,

I miss you all,

Regards,

John

Today's the day. Just packing up to head out and pick up some buddies along the way. Hey if you can't get out for noon don't worry we're there until 4pm rehearsing (and the social hour begins). In fact the full ensemble of brass and percussion doesn't start until 3 pm so you can arrive late and still see quite a bit of what The Optimists Alumni are presenting in 2010.

The Successful Outcome:

Sorry to be so late in reporting back on our day in Welland ON but other non-drum corps matters got in the way.

It was a great rehearsal (our first on the road) away from Toronto. We got to meet older members who were part of the history back in the 60s, newer friends who came to watch and sit in and even a few former members back to be part of the 2010 show. They fed us well and the beverages were cold for those that wanted them or hot (free coffee) for the rest. It really doesn't get any better than that.

We've finished learning our new opener "Over The Rainbow" which we played with the drum line for the first time and starting in working on our new closer "What Kind Of Fool Am I?".

Our next open full corps rehearsal is back in Toronto on Sunday January 31st, 2010 (noon till 4 pm) at our home base in The Canadian Legion Branch 344 1395 Lakeshore Blvd. West (easy to find just check MapQuest, Google, Yahoo Canada Maps or your trusty GPS).

You can also keep updated and enjoy lots of drum corps photos, videos and more at our website: www.optimists-alumni.org
