Tonight was a clear night in Phoenix as they played host to one of the first guard shows in New York. This season is going to be a great season as the guards tonight rock the house.

Novice

Phoenix Novice (1st) Complete in Tuxes and top hats, Phoenix Novice presented "Putin on the Ritz". The first Novice guard out of Phoenix in sometime, this guards was very entertaining with great body and equipment work

Liverpool Novice (2nd)-Swung into 2nd place with their show "Spider Man" using the music of Micheal Buble. With fast moves and nice flags this show will be great as the season progress.

Cadet

Vestal Jr. (1st 41.3)-Doing a show entitled "Shock" using the soundtrack "You find a Way" by Santagold. This was a drastic style change from last year, this show was intense. Great weapons line, and great work.

SRA

Liverpool JV (1st 49.0) Took us to Greece with their show "I can go the Distance" Using the music of Micheal Bolton. Complete with Pillars and a sunrise this show is very inspirational. With daring moves and great ensemble work, this guard rocked it.

Phoenix JV (2nd 48.8) took us to the sea with their show "Sunrise" musical soundtrack by Michael Nyman . With pretty colors and high rifle work, they will be a top contender for gold.

Mexico (3rd 42.9) Celebrating 10 years this season they are doing a show entitled "Sway" Using music of the Pussycat Dolls and Micheal Buble. A smaller group this year but had bright flags and high energy as their show went on. Complete with daring rifle work this guard should be witched.

IRA

Lakeside (1st 43.6) from 6 to 12 members this year they present their show "the Botz" Using the music Mr. Roboto by Styx. In full robot garm they do high flying tricks with Airblades. Also they have fast flag movements, overall a very entertaing show to witch.

IA

ALLURE (1st 50.3) Back after 9 years this six member ensemble takes the floor doing a show entitled "The Chase" Music from the Italian Job. This guard my be small but the deliver a huge impact with there daring rifle drills. High flags and fast pace movement. This guard is entertaining and have good technique.

Mt.Markham Mustangs (2nd 44.0) doing the music of Collective Soul this show was very entertaining to. With good movement and great tricks, this young guard did very will in IA.

SA2

Vestal Sr. (1st 53.4) Doing a show entitled "Saber Dance" by Vanessa Mays. This show was very fast and intense as the guard moved across the floor. With fast tricks and pretty flags this groups was a joy to witch.

Baldwinsville Var. (2nd 51.4) After winning SRA last year Bville moved up to SA2 with a show entitled "The Next Frontier" Music from the New Star Trac movie. With edge of your seat moments with very tight rifle work and fast flag work this guard came in a close 2nd.

APW (3rd 43.1) Doing a darker version of Alice in Wonderland . This show took you on a ride through Wonderland as the music went from pretty flag work to intense and high rifle and flag work.

SA1

Phoenix Sr. (1st 62.8) Doing a show entitled Saber Dance, this group was great with their ripple rifle drill and high saber tricks. This guard is one to witch at Dayton this season.

Liverpool Var. (2nd 55.4) Showed "Music Inspired" us all. Using the soundtrack August Rhapsody by Mark Mancina had a great color pallet and built to a stunning end flag feature that took the gym by storm.

SW

Gates-Chili Var. (1st 56.0) After a 6th place finish at worlds Gates-Chili is taking on World with their show entitled Aurora Borealis with the hunting soundtrack Sigur Rios. With a stunning floor mat and pretty purple costumes this guard show they are world caliber. With stunning rifle exchanges and tight flag work this group could make top 15 in Dayton.

Next week is C-NS at C-NS Jr. HS come out and see as 2009 SA World champions will appear in SO competition. This was a great kick off for guard in NYS.
