I'd be happy to elaborate. The metal apperatus attached to Renegade snares are not cowbells. It's a 3 inch square metal box appox. 6 inches long. Industrial grade, heavy gauge metal we called "The Rusty Box" Although they sounded cowbell like, they had a more distinct ring and higher pitch than a cowbell. It was a custom made accessory made in-house by, I think Thom Sherer, who I marched with in 2005, snare. He was later promoted to staff and worked his way up the instruction ladder and eventually became caption head. See you all on the downstroke!
