Bob Callicutt
Everyone has a past, only ours happens to be a sordid one. One that when we look back we see more than skeletons in a closet. We see darkness and remorse. It is only through a calling, a sense of enlightenment that we are able to break free from the chains that bind us. Only then are we able to come Out of the Shadows… The Carolina Gold Drum and Bugle Corps are pleased to announce our 2012 production, "Out of the Shadows". Join us this season as we journey from a dark and twisted past into a future free of regret. Inspired by classical and modern gothic literature and art, as well as themes and colors from Edvard Grieg, Coldplay, and Imogen Heap, we will take you on a path of penance and righteousness. The Carolina Gold Drum and Bugle Corps is from Greensboro,North Carolina and is led by Corps Director, Justin Mabry and a design team including Rob Stein, Sean Combes, Mike Gillespie, and Drew Zellmer. Bob Callicutt
Thanks Sayre! We will see you guys up in Wildwood in June! For those who live in the NC and the Southern Virginia region, please feel free to check us out at www.carolinagold.org ! Hornline only camp is this weekend, while our guard members and percussion members are concentrating on WGI. The hornline is "knee-deep" in drill right now and everyone is VERY excited about the fantastic score by our new arranger! We certainly expect that this show concept (once fielded) will dazzle and entertain! Guard tryouts are coming up VERY soon AND there are still spots available on our hornline. This season, Gold will be marching Bb horns for the first time -and we will have a line up of BRAND SPANKING NEW Dynasty Trumpets! I'm afraid that spots on our battery and front pit ensemble are all full up right now. Demand for those coveted spots has been incredible this year! We would like to wish good luck to those Carolina Gold Guard Members performing at the WGI World Championships this weekend with First Flight, and several other guard groups! We also want to wish good luck to Battery and Pit Members performing with Rhapsody Percussion, Wake Forest Independent, Jefferson Forest and Athens Drive (among others) at WGI next week.
