DannyII
“Inspiration may be a form of super-consciousness, or perhaps of subconsciousness—I wouldn’t know. But I am sure it is the antithesis of self-consciousness.” In their Season 18 production, Ohio Valley Thunder brings to life one man’s inspiration. A man who would come to define the “American style” of music, and is revered to this day, 22 years after his death. Drawing from his operas, symphonies, and ballets we are proud to present “Aaron”. Our show begins with one of Copland’s best known works, “The Promise of Living” from the opera “The Tender Land” and move into what has been dubbed “the essential American symphony” with the second and fourth movements of “Symphony No. 3.” Our show comes to an almost abrupt halt as we hear the faint strains from what has become Copland’s most known work, originally titled “Ballet for Martha” close our show with the last three movements of “Appalachian Spring.” We hope you enjoy our Season 18 production “Aaron”.
