DannyII
Fielding for the first time and hailing from Charlotte, NC, we are proud to represent the Carolinas in DCPI competition! For our first season, we thought it was more than appropriate to pay homage to our home state. We are proud to bring you A Carolina Symphony as our Season 18 production! Mvt. I – We begin our show with a fanfare and variations based upon themes from “Carolina in the Morning” and “Carolina In My Mind” Mvt. II – Our second movement salutes the rich folk music tradition of the Carolinas with Donald Grantham’s “Exhilaration,” the third movement from his “Southern Harmony.” Mvt. III – We take it down a notch for the third movement to pause and remember just how beautiful the Carolinas truly are with the opening strains of the barbershop classic “Carolina I’m Coming Back To You” before transitioning into the immortal James Taylor hit “Carolina In My Mind.” Mvt. IV – Our show closes with a tribute to Carolina’s sea legacy, and the bloodthirsty pirates that found shelter in her rivers and outerbanks with music from “Pirates of the Caribbean!” We hope you will enjoy our first DCPI production, A Carolina Symphony!
