City Sound is starting this season where they left off last summer, on a real high! With the our Pre-Season rehearsals at California State University Dominguez Hills, being a huge success, having had almost 80 performers attended in all categories, horns, drums, and color guard.

There are still openings for those who could not make the rehearsals because of Rose parade and other school conflicts and commitments at year’s end.

City Sound and its staff welcome everyone interested between the ages of 14 through 21 to audition at our January 19-20 Camp from 9am Saturday until 5pm Sunday.

The audition and camp fee for both days is $65.00. (This includes food.) Alternatively, you can pay $40.00 for audition only if you choose not to sleep over and if you provide your own food. This is a sleep over camp so bring your sleeping bags, toiletries, and bathing suits etc.

The campsite is located at:

The Boy Scout Cabrillo Youth Center

3000 Shoshonean Road

San Pedro, CA 90732

(310) 832-7139

(310) 832-9414

City Sound Drum and Bugle Corps is striving to be the premiere Drum and Bugle Corps representing the City of Los Angeles, and put Southern California on the map as one of the top destination cities for Drum Corps competition and activities in the United States.

More fundraising will be available but please do not wait! For those of you, who know in advance that $650 Member Fee will be an economic stress, ask for assistance NOW! Do not let money be a reason for you not to do this activity. On top of the several fundraisers, benefits and raffles the corps is planning we will have many opportunities for those that need assistance in working off their dues, but only to those that ask for the help. A good start would be to check out http://www.helpmemarch.org/. To those of you who have a Facebook you can link your page directly to your Facebook followers to help aid you on your way to fundraising your Dues through Donations. Also, be sure to join our "Buddies" Facebook group (Only for CURRENT 2013 Members/Parents) and watch for announcements regarding fundraisers that pop up.

Chocolate a GO GO Fundraising! If your life is like boxes of chocolate Forrest Gump style, and you can SELL to those lonely hearted Valentines. Be sure to get your boxes at camp and turn in any money you have ASAP! Only those who have turned in their paperwork and are up to date with their fees can take part in this fundraiser as the boxes need to be prepaid for by the Corps.

Our planned schedule of practices are mainly once a week on the weekend, unless it is a camp which are two days, Saturday and Sunday. Check our Corps schedule through our website for an up to date schedule for the season: http://www.city-sound.org/Calandar.html
