Ray Priester
The New Jersey Drum Corps Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for the Class of 2016. These nominations are open to any and all folks deemed worthy by their fellow corps members. This is NOT a 'good ol' boys' thing for directors, instructors and judges, but open to ANYONE you feel was an absolute, positive influence on your corps members and the success of your corps. This is the person on whom your corps relied, whether as a Quartermaster, a chaperon or a guy or gal in the horn line, drum line or color guard who took it upon him or herself to tutor the new kids on their own time and start to bring the newbie up to the same level as the rest of the section. Often, this person did this away from the crowd and on the sly, not wanting any praise from the rank and file, just wanting to help the new person feel accepted and truly a MEMBER of the corps. It doesn't matter if the corps was a National contender or a local parade corps; these folks were absolutely necessary for the corps' success as a mentor to the kids of the community and to drum corps in general. It could be a parent who wanted to be a part of something for the town. It could be the person who had two left feet and wound up being the best marching member. It can be anyone you feel a corps could just not be without!! Every corps in the state has or had at least one person fitting this description and we would like to hear about them and consider them for induction into the NJDCHoF. Give it some serious thought and put pen to paper and let us know why you feel this person should be considered for induction into the Hall of Fame. We ask that you go to our website at www.njdrumcorps.org, print out and fill out a nomination form and mail it to: New Jersey Drum Corps Hall of Fame 213 Parkhights Ave Dover, NJ 07801 Please get those nominations in to us before July 1. Thank you very much for your interest in the New Jersey Hall of Fame and paying homage to all those who have made a contribution to our great activity over these many years. Thank you, once again. Ray Priester
Please keep in mind, you do NOT have to be a member of the Hall to nominate a candidate. Anyone can and should send in a nomination. Thank you.
