Percussion Question

I've heard of Tom Sorensen who played snare in the Kities back in the 60's and was also their drum caption head for many years, but who is Gus Sorensen? Is it the same guy? If not, could someone give me some background on Gus? Where and when did he march? What corps did he teach and when?

Thanks.

Probably just a mix up with names. Gus was Cosmo Barbaro. Barbaro and Sorenson were often on the same panel.

John:

You are correct, some miscommunication. It is Gus "Cosmo" Barbaro. He is going to be our new percussion caption head for the 2005 season.

Thanks,

Dave

I was instructed by both Sorenson and Barbaro--you couldn't find two more disparate men!!!!

I think that Gus got his start with the Geneva Appleknockers. He did senior corps up until the late 70s, when he taught O-C and Cavaliers. He also did judging and was on the staff of Edinboro (PA) University until recently. There's also been a recent thread about him!!!
