Prairie Sound Drum & Bugle Corps Kansas City, Kans

Recommended Posts

The Prairie Sound Drum and Bugle Corps of Kansas City, Kansas was

formed by Jeff Dancinger in June of 2004. He is the Corps Director

and also a performing member of Prairie Sound as a baritone player.

Jeff got his junior corps experience as a member of the Sky Ryder's

from Hutchinson, Kansas.

Interest and membership grew quite rapidly during the summer of 2004

and the corps held it's first organizational meeting to appoint Horn,

Drum and Color Guard Instructors as well as Management Personnel in the

fall of 2004.

Prairie Sound already owns it's own line of horns and drums which is

extraordinary for a start-up organization. Due to this fact a short

rehearsal was held after the first official meeting where performing

members were treated to the honor of standing in the first-ever "Horn

Arc" for the Prairie Sound Drum and Bugle Corps. Quite a feat

considering the entire organization was only four months old at the

time!

Unfortunately, during this period of rapid growth and developement

for the organization, in October of 2004 Jeff Dancinger's National

Guard unit was called up to active duty and sent to Iraq. This has

left the corps in somewhat of a temporary holding pattern over the

last ten months.

However, his unit is due to return back home to "The States"

sometime in August or September of 2005!

Please frequently visit the Prairie Sound Yahoogroup for further

updates on Jeff's safe return home to his family and join us in

praying that this will happen.

The organization will then resume operation and look forward

to a great future in 2006 and beyond.

Please browse the Prairie Sound Yahoogroup page for further

information and postings regarding the organization by going to

www.yahoo.com, click on Groups, enter Prairie Sound in the Search

field, click Search, then scroll down the list until you see the

Prairie Sound listing, click on it, then click on "Join This Group" and

register as a member to keep up on the corps progress.

Thank you,

Richard W. Rice
