Sayre Kulp
Hey folks. I'm looking to buy a 3 or 4 valve contra. Preferably a 5/4. No baby contras please. Condition is important. Minor dings and the like are acceptable but no major dents or scratches and no visible re-soldering. Must have all original silver plating or chrome work. Thank you. Sayre Kulp
I know... That's why I posted on here. Figured I could save myself some time over scrounging on Ebay.
Shadow_7
no visible re-soldering. Must have all original silver plating or chrome work. And how much are you willing to pay for this near mint contra? 5/4's are very pricey and I doubt that anyone who paid for one would have it sit in storage only to be sold later at a fraction of it's costs. If it's been used, it's popped at least one brace, and the re-soldering is probably visible. Or the original solder for the missing brace is visible. Just trying to be realistic. Sayre Kulp
I meant visible resoldering of things like cracks in the horn and such. I would expect a fixed brace here or there. And I'm looking for something that looks almost as good as it plays and sounds. I know there are some corps that had relatively new stuff before switching to Bb. Just thought I'd put some feelers out. You never know. I know what I'm asking for would be pricey, but it would still be better than trying to buy one new.
