Matthew
Each Division is given a max amount of points to work with. You chose REAL corps for your captions (i.e. GE Music - Santa Clara Vanguard), if Vanguard scores a 13.3 in that caption on a given night, that is the score that your corps will earn. Should Vanguard not compete on that night, you get a generated score for them, reflecting their current trend they are following that season (there is an equation used for this). Since there is a max amount of points you can use, you can't have all your corps be Cavaliers, Blue Devils and etc. This is the live season, so we use the scores that corps are going to earn once the competitive season starts. Some corps (i.e. Boston, Crossmen, Seattle...etc) who normally start a week later, will have generated scores for the first few shows (reflective of their last seasons start). The point system makes you have to choose corps from all tiers, which is why it can get really competitive, almost to the .001 sometimes!
