brassomaniac
The Albany tk2 mini-corps project is off to a great start following our first official planning board meeting! There are many areas that will require further exploration and discussion, but the enthusiasm for the new group was evident among the participants. Brass, percussion and guard members have all expressed interest in participating and a first-rate brass instructor is on board. Members are anxious to get started with rehearsals, but it was agreed that the group should take enough time to properly plan out the organization structure & goals before official rehearsals will start. However, informal get-togethers will begin soon, for the brass players, who are raring to start working on the fun tunes we already have for the book. Some immediate steps for the board to take: Naming the mini-corps Determining the form of organization, mission, by-laws, etc. Defining the corps style, goals - WHAT IS IT? Devising a recruitment strategy Fund raising Setting a target schedule for election of officers, first rehearsal, and performance debut. As we already have significant brass interest, we’ll will continue to look for additional, used B-flat/F instruments to add to our set Continue to add experienced corps people to the planning board Thanks to all of the participants, as well as to the many others who contributed ideas and support!
