mr.mello Posted June 1, 2006 Share Posted June 1, 2006 After taking a hiatus, the corps director for The Vigilantes, The Mauraders, and The Spirit of Deerfield Beach decided to return to the activity. Due to the overwhelming joy felt by returning to the DCPI field, it was only logical to construct a concept that would reflect the festive attitude the 3 corps have. So we present `Festivus!´ a concept that extends to 3 corps of different divisions. As viewers watch the shows, notice how each guard will have an aluminum pole feature. The Spirit of Deerfield Beach (D3) will be playing `Festivus!: Magnificant´. This show will represent the coming of a joyous occasion reflecting the excitment and expectations people feel when a huge celebration is at hand. The music featured will be from John Rutter´s `The Magnificant´ and will be played in the following order. MVT1 Magnificat anima mea MVT2 Fecit Potentium (pole feature) MVT3 Esurientes MVT4 Gloria Patri The Mauraders (D2) will be playing `Festivus!: Gloria´. This show will represent the height of revelry and how the celebrants ebb back and forth between merry-making and self-reflectance. The music featured will be from John Rutters´s `Gloria´ and will be played as follows. MVT1 Allegro Vivace MVT2 Andante (pole feature) MVT3 Vivace E Ritmico The Vigilantes (D1) will be playing `Festivus!: Requiem´. This show will represent the celebration losing control and the celebrants having to deal with feelings of guilt and fear while trying to gain peace and redemption. This show will complete the corps celebration of coming back on the field and will set the tone of the three corps for years to come. The music featured will be from Andrew Llyod Webber´s `Requiem´ and will be played as follows.
