brassomaniac
Had some excellent players sit in last week. Wow - what a trumpet section! Mellos cranked on some tasty parts - low brass filling out BIG! Up for this week,: Sammy Nestico's "My Funny Valentine" "Blues for Brass", with some hot blues improv. Maybe touch a little on "The Jazz Police" Plus a run-though of some great arrangements of: "When You Wish Upon a Star/Somewhere WAY Over the Rainbow" Mel Torme's "The Christmas Song" Silver Bells "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" and "Silent Night" We're expanding, and we've picked up some new instruments to make room for a few more experienced players. Openings for: 1 Trumpet 1 Mello 1 Bari 1 Tuba to make arrangements to sit in and try it out: Contact Us Edited September 30, 2006 by brassomaniac
brassomaniac
FYI: we're mulling over a switch to Sundays (still only a 2 or 3 hour rehearsal). As we're adding new members, we're running into conflicts with school, coaching, travel time on weeknights. Stay tuned.
