The Spokane Thunder Drum and Bugle Corps is pleased to announce the 2007 visual staff. Ron Barnett is the new visual caption head and will be joined by returning colorguard caption head and lead choreographer, Laurie Gottschalk and marching instructors, Martin Anderson and Sam Schlaich. Last year’s drill designer, Eric Parker will again work with our visual team to design the 2007 Thunder visual program. Ron Barnett joins Thunder after working with the Oregon Crusaders in both 2004 and 2006. Mr. Barnett is thrilled to join Thunder full time after serving as a design consultant and visual instructor for Thunder part time in 2006. Laurie Gottschalk is the Colorguard Director at Westview High School in Beaverton, Oregon. She was the caption head and choreographer for Spokane Thunder in 2006. Both Martin Anderson and Sam Schlaich have deep roots in the Spokane, Washington area – Sam was one of Thunder’s first age outs in the class of 2005. The 2007 Percussion team will again be headed by Chris Grant, caption head and lead arranger. Joining the staff as new members of team Thunder are Paul Lack and Ryan Masterson. Ryan Masterson recently was on staff with the 2006 Seattle Cascade percussion section after aging out with the Santa Clara Vanguard in 2005. Paul is the Director of Percussion at Mead High School in the Spokane area. Returning from the 2006 season will be Adam Fukino who has taught some of Hawaii’s finest high school percussion ensembles. Thunder is excited to have a great staff for the new season and plans to announce the brass staff in the coming weeks. We continue our plans to compete at the 2007 DCI Division III Championships in Pasadena, California and would like to invite anyone interested in performing with us to attend our free Open House, December 9th, 2006 at the University Center.
