Jim Anello Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Just saw that Dennis Hagner passed away 04/26/08 at the age of 62. For those of you who don't know Dennis, he was a member of the Cavaliers in the early '60s. He was heavily involved in drum corps once his marching days were done. I first met him when he was working with the Mariners. Later he did stints with the 1976 Kilties junior corps and later with the Senior Kilties. Visitation is Wednesday, April 30, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 7626 W. Greenfield Avenue from 5 - 7 PM. Quote

HornsUp Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 Dennis was a guy who did it all. He started in his parish corps, the St. Matthias Cadets, and was soon instructing other local drumlines. He aged out with the Cavaliers, then married a drum corps girl. Besides the Mariners, he instructed scads of B corps drumlines. Next he got heavily into judging with CSJA and the FCJ, then management. He saved the junior Kilties from extinction in 1976. Next, he became the business manager of DCI, and ran the ticket operations for their regionals and championships. As Executive Director, he brought the senior Kilties into national prominence. We will all miss his ready smile and handshake, and the hours of conversation that would follow. Quote
