standy
Good ? Or a one time charge at the top?
ajlisko
Definitely a good corps ... 67 was their pinnacle season before a drop off and then out in 68 ... fine collaboration between Pratt/Raymond and Bunce ... a little weak in the feet (was Kubinak there?) or they would have been an even greater force ... not sure why they didn't go to the AL Nats in Boston ... or the WO for that matter ... the influx of talent from Selden in 66 definitely pushed them up in the rankings in 66 and 67 ... :-)
ironlips
The NY Kingsmen had some wicked-good sopranos. If I recall, Pete "China" Franchina, Jack Schwab and Glen Krug were among them before they all joined the Sunrisers. Also, Andy, didn't Manny Salort march with the K-men for a time? ajlisko
>>Also, Andy, didn't Manny Salort march with the K-men for a time?<< No ... his girlfriend Robin was in the Kingsmen while Manny was with Sky ... he competed in a few I&E's under the Kingsmen but was never on the field with them to my knowledge ... :-)
ironlips
Andy, you are a fountain of knowledge. Didn't the NY Kingsmen win the Northeast Circuit Championship around '66? I think a photo of their DM (Brian Farrell?) is featured on the album cover.

He was with us, got tossed during the afternoon rehearsal and wound up learning and marching Kingsmen's show in exhibition that night at the show. Didn't have black shoes with him, so marched in black socks! That might have been the day that Pepe smacked him.
