I got braces about 2 years ago & I'm about to get them off & what I can say is. Practice is the key, I never used the wax or guards. Just get ready to practice A LOT & being patient is very important. Good luck!

I've been playing trumpet for about 8 years & last season was my 1st season playing mello. What I can say is, make sure you practice your trumpet as much as your mello. What I did is, I practiced my mello during the day, then at nite I hit up my trumpet just doing technique drills trying to keep my chops. Hope this helps.
